Segundo Rosa Storni (16 July 1876 in Tucumán Province, Tucumán - 4 December 1954) was an Argentine sailor who served as foreign minister during the presidency (de facto) of general Pedro Pablo Ramírez (1943-1944). Biography Storni graduated 29 December 1894 from the Argentine Naval School. In 1916, he dictated two conferences of historical importance from which he developed a doctrine that claimed Argentine rights over the continental shelf of Argentina and all its resources. These two conferences were published for the first time that year as a book under the title ''Intereses Argentinos en el Mar ''[Argentine Interests in the Sea]. In the 1930s Storni was part of the group of soldiers who promoted the development of the national industry, considering it fundamental for defense. Gowind-class Design
The Gowind design is a family of steel monohull frigates, corvettes and offshore patrol vessels developed since 2006 by France's Naval Group, formerly known as DCNS, to conduct missions in the littoral zone such as anti-submarine warfare (ASW). The Gowind family includes vessels with lengths from and displacement from 1,000 tons to 3,100 tons. The Gowind design can deploy unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and Unmanned underwater vehicle, underwater unmanned vehicles (UUVs). An aft deck has been provided allowing for a 10-ton class helicopter or UAV operations. The Kership class is a range of steel monohull offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) built by Kership, a joint venture of French civil shipbuilder Piriou (55%) and Naval shipbuilder DCNS (45%). History The ships were originally part of the but after a rearrangement of products DCNS decided to remove the OPV from the Gowind class and develop the OPVs as a class of their own with top of the range. To do so it formed the Kership joint venture with the Piriou shipyard in Concarneau, Brittany in May 2013 to build and market lightly armed and armoured OPVs for customs, fishing and other home security missions.
