AMPEI
The Mexican Association for International Education (AMPEI) es, Asociación Mexicana para la Educación Internacional MPEI is a non-profit membership organization which brings together international educators from Mexican higher education institutions. Its core membership is composed by individuals in charge of the different international education activities in colleges and universities from Mexico, and elsewhere. AMPEI has developed a collaborative work with related organizations from other parts of the world, such as NAFSA, CONAHEC, CBIE, and EAIE. AMPEI also works actively with the different Embassies in Mexico, as well as government agencies and foundations, engaged in supporting international education and academic exchanges in higher education. Francisco Marmolejo
Francisco Marmolejo (born 1961) is an international educational administrator. Currently, he is the President of Higher Education at the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, based in Doha, Qatar. From 2012 to 2020, he served as Lead Tertiary Education Specialist of the World Bank. At this institution, he served as Global Coordinator of Tertiary Education from 2012 to 2018, and, from 2016 to 2020 as Lead Education Specialist for India and Asia, based in Delhi, India. Early life and education Francisco Marmolejo was born in Ojuelos in Mexico. He graduated from the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí (UASLP) in 1981 with a bachelor's degree in business administration with emphasis in Agri-business. He received a master's degree in business administration from UASLP, and later conducted doctoral work in Organizational Administration at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. International Education
International education refers to a dynamic concept that involves a journey or movement of people, minds, or ideas across political and cultural frontiers. It is facilitated by the globalization phenomenon, which increasingly erases the constraints of geography on economic, social and cultural arrangements. The concept involves a broad range of learning, covering, for instance, formal education and informal learning (e.g. training, exchange programs, cross-cultural communication). It could also involve a reorientation of academic outlook such as the pursuit of "worldmindedness" as a goal so that a school or its academic focus is considered international.
