AFF U19 Youth Championship 2008
The 2008 AFF U-19 Youth Championship took place from 5 to 11 October 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. This is the first edition of tournament as an under-19 competition as it was previously for players under-20. Only four nations participated, two from the ASEAN region and two invitee teams. Bangkok, officially known in Thai language, Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon and colloquially as Krung Thep, is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. Tan Yang
Tan Yang (; born 9 January 1989) is a Chinese former footballer who played as a striker and centre-back. Club career Tan Yang started his football career when he joined Zhejiang Greentown's youth academy in 2003. He had a brief trial with Ligue 1 side Sochaux in February 2007. He made his debut for the club when he made his debut against Qingdao Jonoon on 5 April 2008 in a 2–0 loss. Often coming on as a substitute, he would nevertheless score two league goals throughout the campaign, with his debut goal coming against Changchun Yatai in a 2–2 draw on 12 November 2008. After several seasons for Hangzhou, he could not maintain a consistent run within the team and he was released by the club at the end of the 2011 season. Halfway through the 2012 season, Hangzhou decided to bring back Tan and soon loaned him out to third-tier club Hebei Zhongji. Tan transferred to Hebei on a permanent deal in January 2013. AFC U-19 Championship
The AFC U-20 Asian Cup, formerly known as the AFC Youth Championship and AFC U-19 Championship, is a biennial international association football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-20 national teams of Asia. The competition has been held since 1959. Between 1959 and 1978, the tournament was held annually (without qualification); since 1980, it has been held every two years. The 1980 AFC Youth Championship had a qualification stage for first time. The tournament has been played in a number of different formats during its existence. Currently, it consists of two stages, similar to the AFC's other Asian Championship competitions. The qualifying stage is open to all AFC members and the final stage is contested between 16 teams. The most recent edition, the 40th, was held in Indonesia. The AFC have proposed switching the tournament from under-19 to under-20 starting from 2023. Park Jong-woo ( ko, 박종우; born 10 March 1989) is a South Korean football player, who currently plays for Busan IPark as a midfielder. He has previously played for the Chinese club Guangzhou R&F and also in the UAE Arabian Gulf League for Al Jazira and Emirates. He has represented South Korea at age group and senior level, including the Men's tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and was part of the South Korean squad for 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. James Robert Holland (born 15 May 1989) is an Australian football player who plays as a midfielder for Austria Wien in the Austrian Football Bundesliga. Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Holland played youth football at the New South Wales Institute of Sport before making his professional debut for Central Coast Mariners in 2006. He went on to play for the Australian Institute of Sport before spending two seasons with Newcastle Jets. Jason Naidovski
Jason Naidovski (born 19 July 1989) is an Australian footballer. Biography Jason previously played for the Australian Institute of Sport in the Victorian Premier League. He scored a hat-trick against the Fawkner Blues in his final game for the AIS. Naidovski made his mark on the A-League scene scoring a late winner against Wellington Phoenix in Round 1 of the 2009–10 A-League season. Fellow Jets' striker Sean Rooney crossed the ball into Naidovski who neatly headed the ball into the bottom corner of the net. In September 2014 Jason announced his retirement at 25. Reason of his early retirement was because of on-going knee issues. He requires a fourth knee reconstruction in 5 years.
