AEW TNT Championship
The AEW TNT Championship is a men’s professional wrestling television championship created and promoted by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Established on March 30, 2020, it is named after the TNT television network, which currently airs AEW's secondary core program, '' Rampage'', as well as the promotion's ''Battle of the Belts'' quarterly television specials. The inaugural champion was Cody Rhodes. The current champion is Samoa Joe, who is in his first reign. All Elite Wrestling
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. It is considered the second largest wrestling promotion in the United States behind WWE. AEW is owned by Shahid Khan and his son Tony, who founded the company in 2019; in-ring performers Matt & Nick Jackson and Kenny Omega also serve as company executives. Noah Anthony Schiavone (, ; born November 7, 1957) is an American sports announcer, professional wrestling commentator and podcaster currently signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as a play-by-play commentator and senior producer. He has previously worked for Jim Crockett Promotions, the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), and Major League Wrestling (MLW). In addition to his work in wrestling, Schiavone has also worked as a broadcaster for the Gwinnett Braves/Stripers of Minor League Baseball and Georgia Bulldogs football. ''AEW Battle of the Belts'' is an American series of professional wrestling television specials produced by All Elite Wrestling (AEW). It is broadcast on TNT in the United States. Only four episodes were originally planned to air quarterly throughout 2022 but expanded into 2023. The series was originally to air on Saturday nights, but the fourth episode aired on a Friday due to a scheduling conflict. The series premiered with a live episode on January 8, 2022. The two-part event took place on January 6 and 7, 2021, at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida and was broadcast on TNT as special episodes of AEW's weekly television program, ''Dynamite''.
