AD Bairro
Associação Desportiva do Bairro Craveiro Lopes, commonly known as AD Bairro or ADESBA for short, is a multisport club that had played in the Santiago Island South Zone League in Cape Verde. It is based in the capital city of Praia in the island of Santiago and plays in the stadium with a capacity of 8,000 The club never won a championship title, they have two cup titles. Its sports include football (soccer), basketball, futsal, similar to arena football and volleyball. Its current president Carlos Sena Teixeira and its manager is Daniel Cardoso who came in February 2017. Its nickname is ''canarinha'' which is Portuguese for the ''little canary''. Estádio Da Várzea
Estádio da Várzea is a multi-purpose stadium in Praia, Cape Verde just west of the city center's plateau in the subdivision of Várzea and on Avenida Cidade de Lisboa on its east side. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 8,000 people. The stadium is owned by the city of Praia and is operated by the Santiago South Regional Football Association and serves its headquarters of the association. The other stadium operated by the association in the south of the island is Calabaceira. The entrance is on the west side of the stadium where most of the seat is. The stadium has seat rows in the left and right sides, 200 meters east is the Plateau of Praia. Its size is 108 by 69 m, the longest part of the field goes north to south with a 15 degree angle facing east at the top. Its elevation is about 4 meters above sea level. 2011–12 Santiago Island League (South)
The 2011–12 Santiago Island League (South) season began on 3 December and finished on 29 April. Sporting won the regional competition and qualified into the 2012 Cape Verdean Football Championships. The championship was organized by the Santiago South Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Santiago Sul, ARFSS). Boavista Praia was the defending team of the title. A total of 20 clubs participated in the competition, each in two divisions. Overview One of the greatest matches of the season was part of the Capital Derby featuring Sporting and Boavista which was on February 11. A total of 245 goals were scored. Santiago South Opening Tournament
The Santiago South Opening Tournament or the Association Cup (Portuguese: ''Torneio de Abertura de Santiago Sul'', Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Turnéu di Abertura di Santiagu Sul''), is an opening tournament competition (equivalent to a league cup used in other countries) played during the season in the south of Santiago, Cape Verde consisting the municipalities of Praia, Ribeira Grande de Santiago and São Domingos. 2008 Cape Verdean Football Championships
The 2008 Cape Verdean Football Championships season was the 29th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 10 May and finished on 16 August, later than the last season. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Sporting would win their 7th title and third straight after defeating Académica do Mindelo in penalty kicks. Sporting gained entry into the 2009 CAF Champions League, it is the last club to enter to date. No second place club would participate in the 2009 CAF Confederation Cup. Overview Sporting Clube da Praia was the defending team of the title. A total of 12 clubs participated in the competition, one from each island league and one who won the last season's title. The Santiago South Super Cup (Portuguese: ''Super Taça de Santiago Sul'') is a regional super cup competition played during the season in the south of Santiago, Cape Verde consisting the municipalities of Praia, Ribeira Grande de Santiago and São Domingos. The competition is organized by the Santiago South Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Santiago Sul de Futebol, ARFSS). Its current champions is Sporting Praia who won their third and recent title. The regional champion competes with the cup champion. If a champion also has a cup title, a cup club who is runner-up qualifies. The upcoming edition will feature the champion Académica da Praia and the cup winner Sporting Praia.
