Atlético Clube de Bissorã is a Guinea-Bissau football club located in Bissorã, Guinea-Bissau. It currently plays in Campeonato Nacional da Guiné-Bissau. History The club was founded on 1 July 1946 during Portuguese control and an affiliate of Atlético Lisbon., They played their first official competition in 1960, they played in what was the Portuguese Guinea Provincial Championships until full independence in 1974 (from 1973, also as the Guinea-Bissau Championships). They played in the lower divisions, they came to play in the First Division from the 2002 season> In cup competitions, the club reached the 2004–05 final against Sporting Clube de Bissau (the club also finished second in the league to Sporting Clube) and lost 4–2. Bissorã is a town located in the Oio Region of Guinea-Bissau. Population 11,964 (2008 est). Retrieved on June 16, 2008 History After the abrupt independence from Portugal in 1974 due to Lisbon's Carnation Revolution, many of the Guinean black soldiers who served in the Portuguese Army and who had fought against the independence guerrillas were disarmed and left behind. Sporting Clube de Bissau, usually known as Sporting de Bissau, is a football (soccer) club from Bissau, Guinea-Bissau. History The club was founded on 30 January 1936 in Bissau, the club named after to that of the Portuguese club Sporting CP of Lisbon and is the 89th affiliate. In the colonial era, the club competed three times in the Portuguese Cup, SC Braga in 1970, the 1972 edition which was their last appearance reached up to round one and challenged with UD Sintrense and Oriental Lisboa and was later out. The club has the most number of national championships number 14 titles, their last was won in 2010, it also has 6 cup and 2 super cup titles.
