ACC Trophy
The ACC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament organised by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Open only to associate and affiliate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), it was contested biennially between 1996 and 2012, but has been replaced by the three-division ACC Premier League as the primary limited-overs competition for non-Test-playing ACC members. The finalists of the 2000 and 2006 tournaments qualified for the Asia Cup, where matches had One Day International (ODI) status. The inaugural edition of the tournament was played in Malaysia in 1996, and featured 12 teams in a single division. The single-division format continued until the 2006 tournament, which featured a record 17 teams. The Asian Cricket Council also known as ACC is a cricket organisation which was established in 1983, to promote and develop the sport of cricket in Asia. Subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently consists of 26 member associations. Jay Shah is the current president of Asian Cricket Council. History The council was formed as the Asian Cricket Conference in New Delhi, India, on 19 September 1983, with the original members being Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, and Sri Lanka. 1998 ACC Trophy
The 1998 ACC Trophy was a cricket tournament in Nepal, taking place from 3 October to 13 October 1998. It gave Associate and Affiliate members of the Asian Cricket Council experience of international one-day cricket and also helped form an essential part of regional rankings. Sheikh Salahuddin (cricketer)
Sheikh Salahuddin Ahmed (10 February 1969 – 29 October 2013) was a Bangladeshi international cricketer. He was born in Rajapur, Khulna, and played in six One Day Internationals (ODIs) in 1997. Arshad Laeeq (born 28 November 1970), also sometimes known as Arshad Laiq is a former Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team. He played two first-class cricket games for Pakistan Steel in 1986–87 and was a stand-by selection for Pakistan for the 1988 Youth World Cup. Saleem Raza (born 5 July 1964) is a former Pakistani-born cricketer who played for the United Arab Emirates national cricket team.
