Stereolab
Stereolab are an Anglo- French avant-pop band formed in London in 1990. Led by the songwriting team of Tim Gane and Lætitia Sadier, the group's music combines influences from krautrock, lounge and 1960s pop music, often incorporating a repetitive motorik beat with heavy use of vintage electronic keyboards and female vocals sung in English and French. Their lyrics have political and philosophical themes influenced by the Surrealist and Situationist movements. On stage, they play in a more feedback-driven and guitar-oriented style. The band also draw from funk, jazz and Brazilian music, and were one of the first artists to be dubbed "post-rock". They are regarded among the most innovative and influential groups of the 1990s. Stereolab were formed by Gane (guitar and keyboards) and Sadier (vocals, keyboards and guitar) after the break-up of McCarthy. The two were romantically involved for fourteen years and are the group's only consistent members. Other longtime members included ... Switched On
''Switched On'' (also known as ''Switched On Stereolab'' or ''Switched On Volume 1'') is a compilation of Stereolab's first three releases, and was originally released in 1992. The album's name is in tribute to ''Switched-On Bach'' and other similar titles from the late 1960s to 1970s that feature Moog synthesizers as the primary instrument. Pram (band)
Pram are a British post-rock band formed in Birmingham, England in 1988 by Rosie Cuckston (vocals, keyboards), Matt Eaton (guitar), Andy Weir (drums), and Samantha Owen (bass). Subsequent lineups have changed frequently, most notably with Cuckston's departure in 2008. Their electronic pop sound, described by AllMusic as "equally quaint and unsettling," employs unconventional instruments and draws on stylistic influences such as krautrock, exotica, and dub. The group signed to Too Pure Records in 1993, where they released their debut LP '' The Stars Are So Big, The Earth Is So Small... Stay as You Are''. They later signed to Domino. Following the 2007 album '' The Moving Frontier'', they took a lengthy hiatus, returning in 2018 with '' Across the Meridian''.
