AB7(Railway Carriage)
AB7 is a Swedish passenger car A car or automobile is a motor vehicle with wheels. The year 1886 is regarded as ... of the 1980s-cars featuring both first and second class seating. In 2008 SJ decided to refurbish and modify some of their carriages originally built in the 1980s. As a part of the modernization program in 2009-2010, SJ rebuilt all of their AB9 carriages to a more modern version, designated the AB7. The main difference is that the smoking section of the carriages were removed. The carriages feature an open saloon as the seating area, as well as 230 V power outlets and 4 restrooms in each carriage with 2 in each end. Kalmar Verkstad
Kalmar Verkstad AB (''KVAB'') was a Swedish train and automobile manufacturer in Kalmar, Sweden that made the Tjorven and Terminal. KVAB was founded in 1902 and closed in 2005 by Bombardier. History and products KVAB's core business was trains, and they built all kinds of locomotives, trams, passenger cars, freight cars for both Swedish market and export. In the mid-sixties, KVAB also produced small trucks, boats, parking decks and cars for road use. Tjorven was a small delivery van based on the DAF 44, Swedish Mail bought a lot of them for mail delivery. Kalmar Terminal was a vehicle intended to be used for transporting goods in ports between ships and railway. One odd detail was that the door was located in the front. It had a V8 diesel engine, automatic gearbox, and semi-trailer coupling with built-in automatic air and electric connections. SJ (formally ''SJ AB'') is a government-owned passenger train operator in Sweden. SJ was created in 2001, out of the public transport division of ''Statens Järnvägar'', when the former government agency was divided into six separate government-owned limited companies. In 2018 SJ carried 31.8 million passengers. Overview SJ's operations fall broadly into subsidised and unsubsidised services. The unsubsidised services was until 2011 monopoly. The subsidised trains are awarded through competitive bids. However, some trains fall in between these categories, since public transit agencies can pay SJ to allow transit pass holders access to SJ's trains. SJ received a government bailout a few years after its creation, but has since had profit margins of up to ten per cent.
