A46 Road (Northern Ireland)
The A46 is a road in County Fermanagh, in Northern Ireland. It forms part of the route from Dublin to Ballyshannon ( Co. Donegal). It stretches 23.6 miles from Enniskillen to Belleek along the southwestern shoreline of Lower Lough Erne. In Enniskillen the A46 connects with the following roads including the A4, A32 and the A509 road. The A46 road leaves the island town of Enniskillen and connects with the A4 which connects with Belfast and also westwards along the Sligo Road to Belcoo and Sligo. The A46 road runs along the Ballyshannon Road which has a park on the left called Brooke Park and The Round O. Portora Royal School is on a drumlin to the right of the road continues northwesterly leaving the Enniskillen at Silverhill before heading into the countryside of the Ulster Lakeland, with farms and golf courses and woodland and glimpses of Lower Lough Erne. Belleek, County Fermanagh
Belleek (Flanagan, Deirdre & Laurence; ''Irish Place Names'', page 182. Gill & Macmillan, 2002. ) is a village and civil parish in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. While the greater part of the village lies within County Fermanagh, part of it crosses the border and the River Erne into County Donegal. It lies in the historic barony of Lurg. It had a population of 904 people in the 2011 Census, and is situated within Fermanagh and Omagh district. July is normally the warmest month in Northern Ireland, and the highest summer temperatures of all occur inland, furthest away from the cooling influence of the Atlantic. A long-standing high temperature record for Northern Ireland (30.8 °C) was recorded at Knockarevan in County Fermanagh on 30 June 1976, which was not surpassed until the heatwave of July 2021 (peaking at 31.4 °C, recorded at Armagh). Donegal Town
Donegal ( ; , "fort of the foreigners") is a town in County Donegal, Ireland. The name was also historically spelt 'Dunnagall'. Although Donegal gave its name to the county, now Lifford is the county town. N15 Road (Ireland)
The N15 road is a national primary road in the north-west of Ireland. It runs from Sligo to Lifford, County Donegal. It forms part of the proposed Atlantic Corridor route. It also goes to the border with Northern Ireland. Route The N15 commences halfway across ''Lifford Bridge'' (which crosses the River Foyle between County Donegal and County Tyrone), continuing the route of the A38 (from Strabane on the east side of the river). In Lifford, west of the River Foyle, the N14 meets the N15, ending at a junction in the town centre. The N15 leaves to the southwest, changing to run west at the point just west of Clady. River Erne
The River Erne ( , ga, Abhainn na hÉirne or ''An Éirne'') in the northwest of the island of Ireland, is the second-longest river in Ulster, flowing through Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and forming part of their border. A drumlin, from the Irish word ''droimnín'' ("littlest ridge"), first recorded in 1833, in the classical sense is an elongated hill in the shape of an inverted spoon or half-buried egg formed by glacial ice acting on underlying unconsolidated till or ground moraine. Portora Royal School
Portora Royal School located in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, was one of the public schools founded by the royal charter in 1608, by James I, making it one of the oldest schools in Ireland at the time of its closure. Originally called Enniskillen Royal School, the school was established some ten years after the Royal Decree, in 1618, 15 miles outside Enniskillen at Ballybalfour, before moving to Enniskillen in 1661. It was not until 1778 that the school moved to its final location on Portora Hill, Enniskillen, where the nucleus of the later all boys school was built. The school admitted a mixture of boarders and day pupils for much of its history, but became a day school in the 1990s. On 28 June 2016, Portora Royal School closed. The Round O
The Round O Jetty is located in Brooke Park in Enniskillen and on the River Erne which is part of the Lough Erne waterway system. Boats can moor alongside the jetty and a boat for tourists runs to Devenish Island in the summer months. Normally the ''MV Kestrel'' runs to Devenish Island.
