A2A S.p.A. is an Italian company, organised as a ''società per azioni'', that generates, distributes, and markets renewable energy, electricity, gas, integrated water supply, and waste management services. The company has significant presence in the North of Italy, energy production facilities in Italy and Greece. A2A was born out of the merger of two independent Italian city-owned companies, AEM (Azienda Energetica Municipale) of Milan and ASM Brescia (Azienda dei Servizi Municipalizzati), at the end of 2007, and is still partially owned by the Municipalities of Milan and Brescia (25% ownership each) which are also responsible of appointed 12 out of its 15 directors. Marco Patuano
Marco Patuano (born 6 June 1964) is an Italian economist, manager and President of A2A. Education Patuano studied Corporate Finance and graduated from Bocconi University, in Milan, Italy, in 1990. He then proceeded his studies with numerous post-graduate specializations. Over time he maintained a good relationship with Italian universities, collaborating on MBA programs with Bocconi University of Milan and Luiss University of Rome. Career in telecom Patuano started his career in SIP, the former name of Telecom Italia in 1990 working in the financial branch of the company. He helped to create the branch Telecom Italia Mobile in 1996. Marco Patuano's was nominated TIM Brasil CFO and Telecom Italia America Latina S.A. CFO, they are both Telecom Italia subsidiaries. Renato Mazzoncini has been appointed as CEO and Managing Director of A2A on 13 May 2020. Biography He was born in 1968 in Brescia, Italy. In 1992 he graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan. He is married with three children. Between 1995 and 2000, he was a member of a project team set up by Gio. Ansaldo & C., Ansaldo Trasporti to build Copenhagen's automatic Rapid transit, metro. In the mid-nineties, when Mazzoncini was 26, the apartment complex where he lived blew up due to a gas leak.
