A-23 Baltimore
The Martin 187 Baltimore was a twin-engined light attack bomber built by the Glenn L. Martin Company in the United States as the A-30. The model was originally ordered by the French in May 1940 as a follow-up to the earlier Martin Maryland, then in service in France. With the fall of France, the production series was diverted to Great Britain and after mid-1941, supplied by the U.S. as Lend Lease equipment. Development of the Baltimore was hindered by a series of problems, although the type eventually became a versatile combat aircraft. Produced in large numbers, the Baltimore was not used operationally by United States armed forces but eventually served with the British, Canadian, Australian, South African, Hellenic and the Italian air forces. it was subsequently used almost exclusively in the Mediterranean and Middle East theatre of World War II. Design and development Initially designated the A-23 (derived from the A-22 Martin 167 Maryland design), the Model 187 (company desi ...

Arrows A23
The Arrows A23 is a Formula One racing car, used by the Arrows Grand Prix International, Arrows team during the 2002 Formula One season. It was designed by Mike Coughlan, Sergio Rinland and Nicoló Petrucci with engines supplied by Jaguar-works Cosworth customer rather than the Asiatech unit used in the previous year's Arrows A22. Arrows racing history The car bore the livery of the team's major sponsor, Orange SA, Orange. The car was completely designed around Jos Verstappen, who had a contract to race for the 2002 season. However, due to financial problems the team replaced him with Heinz-Harald Frentzen on a race by race deal because he could bring more sponsorship money. Rinland designed the car around the twin keel concept he had perfected at Sauber. The A23 was introduced late and had very little pre season testing as a result. Most of the testing and set up work was done by Verstappen before he was abruptly replaced by Frentzen. Driven by Frentzen and Enrique Bernoldi, t ...

British NVC Community A23 (Isoetes Lacustris/setacea Community)
This article gives an overview of the aquatic communities in the British National Vegetation Classification system. Introduction The aquatic communities of the NVC were described in Volume 4 of ''British Plant Communities'', first published in 1995, along with the swamps and tall-herb fens. In total, 24 aquatic communities have been identified. The aquatic communities fall into the following six groups: * four communities of the water surface and sub-surface, in which duckweeds and/or Frogbit are the constant species; these communities ( A1, A2, A3 and A4) are found in moderately-rich to eutrophic standing waters * eight free-floating or rooted and submerged, pondweed communities ( A5, A6, A11, A12, A13, A14, A15 and A21) * six communities in which rooted water-lilies and pondweeds with floating leaves are the constant species ( A7, A8, A9, A10, A19 and A20) * three communities in which water-crowfoots and/or starworts are the constant species ( A16, A17 and A ...

HLA-A23
HLA-A23 (A23) is a human leukocyte antigen ''serotype'' within HLA-A serotype group. The serotype is determined by the antibody recognition of α23 subset of HLA-A α-chains. For A23, the alpha, "A", chain are encoded by the HLA-A allele group and the β-chain are encoded by B2M locus. This group currently is dominated by A*2301. A23 and A are almost synonymous in meaning. A23 is a split antigen of the broad antigen HLA-A9 and it is a sister serotype of HLA-A24. A23 is common in Africa and regions of the Middle East, Mediterranean, and India than Europe, East Asia or the Americas. Serotype Allele Haplotypes A23-B7 is found in N.Afr. and S.Afr non-caucasians. A23a
A23a is a large tabular iceberg which calved from the Filchner–Ronne Ice Shelf in 1986. It was then stuck on the sea bed for many years but then started moving in 2020. Its area is about , which made it one of the largest icebergs in the world until it was temporarily surpassed in size by A76. In November 2023, A23a was tracked moving past the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula and headed toward the Southern Ocean. On 1 December 2023, the iceberg was intercepted by the polar research ship RRS ''Sir David Attenborough'', off the tip of the Antarctic Peninsula. At 10 knots, it took the ship several hours to sail along two sides of the iceberg. The iceberg is expected to release a significant quantity of mineral dust as it melts and so the ship took water samples around its perimeter. On 14 January 2024, dramatic archways caused by wave action on A23a were documented by a drone operated by Eyos Expeditions videographer Richard Sidey and expedition leader Ian Strachan. Th ...

English Opening
The English Opening is a chess opening that begins with the move: :1. c4 A flank opening, it is the fourth most popular and, according to various databases, one of the four most successful of White's twenty possible first moves. White begins the fight for the by staking a claim to the d5-square from the wing, in hypermodern style. Although many lines of the English have a distinct character, the opening is often used as a transpositional device in much the same way as 1.Nf3 – to avoid such highly regarded responses to 1.d4 as the Nimzo-Indian and Grünfeld Defences — and is considered reliable and flexible. The English derives its name from the leading 19th century English master Howard Staunton, who played it during his 1843 match with Saint-Amant and at London 1851, the first international tournament. It did not inspire Staunton's contemporaries and caught on only in the twentieth century. It is now recognised as a opening that may be used to reach both classical an ...

Assemblage 23
Assemblage 23 is an electronic act from the United States, currently based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It was founded in 1988 by Tom Shear who writes the music and lyrics and does the recording himself. Live performances are supported by Paul Seegers on keyboards and Mike Jenney on drums. History 1980s–1990s (pre–Assemblage 23) Prior to starting Assemblage 23, Shear experimented with music under the name Man on a Stage, beginning in the early 1980s. Most of Shear's music at this point was instrumental, as he lacked the confidence to sing; the quality of the music itself was highly questionable by his own admission. Shear eventually began to add vocals to his music; at the same time, Shear was also playing bass in a live band called the Advocates. Assemblage 23 was officially born in 1988, after Shear experienced the industrial dance music played by an opening DJ for Depeche Mode. The style of this genre deeply impressed Shear; he believed he had finally found the sort of s ...
