A13 Autoroute
Autoroute 13, or ''L'Autoroute de Normandie'' links Paris to Caen, Calvados. The motorway starts in Paris at the Porte d'Auteuil, a former gate of the Paris walls, and ends at Mondeville's Mondeville 2 (Porte de Paris) exchange junction on the Boulevard Périphérique (Caen). The A13 is France's oldest motorway (opening in 1946) and is intensively used between Paris and Normandy for both commuting and holiday makers. Boulevard Périphérique
The Boulevard Périphérique (), often called the Périph', is a controlled-access dual-carriageway ring road in Paris, France. With a few exceptions (see '' Structure and Layout''), it is situated along Paris's administrative limit. The speed limit along the Périphérique is 70 km/h (45 mph). Each ring generally has four traffic lanes, with no hard shoulder. Its major interchanges are called ''portes''. At junctions, vehicles in the rightmost lane (separated from other lanes in these areas by a continuous white line to the left) must yield to entering vehicles. When travelling at the legal speed limit, it takes approximately 30 minutes to complete a full circuit of the Périphérique. The autoroute A14 is an autoroute in the western suburbs of Paris, France. It connects the business district of La Défense, at Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), to Orgeval (Yvelines) where it joins the A13. Its operation is managed by the Sanef group. History The motorway starts at La Défense in Hauts-de-Seine and ends at Orgeval in Yvelines. The A14 was built to relieve the congested A13 between Paris and Normandy. The A14, opened in 1996, is operated by the Société des Autoroutes de Paris Normandie. The motorway is in length and is subject to a toll. The A14 serves no localities between La Défense and Orgeval and is only a relief road of the A13. A motorway exit near Saint-Germain-en-Laye were planned but were denied by the French president, François Mitterrand, after mayors wanted to prevent excessive car use in the Forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye. Poissy () is a commune in the Yvelines department in the ÃŽle-de-France region in north-central France. It is located in the western suburbs of Paris, from the centre of Paris. Inhabitants are called ''Pisciacais'' in French. Poissy is one of the oldest royal cities of ÃŽle-de-France, birthplace of Louis IX of France and Philip III of France, before being supplanted from the 15th century by Saint-Germain-en-Laye. N13 Nationale
The N13 is a trunk road (route nationale) in France between Paris and Cherbourg. Route Paris to Évreux, km 0 to km 91 The road begins at Porte Maillot, one of former gates in western Paris, in direct alignment with the Champs-Élysées. Continuing on this alignment, the road reaches La Défense after crossing the Seine. Then, as the Boulevard circulaire, orbits around La Défense. To the west of La Défense, the A14 autoroute leaves Paris towards Orgeval and the A13 autoroute. Breaking from its previous straight course, the N13 follows the curves of the river Seine to reach Saint-Germain-en-Laye, passing Nanterre, Le Port-Marly on the way. Autoroute A12, formerly known as the ''Autoroute de Bretagne'' ( en, Motorway of Brittany), is a French autoroute located in Yvelines, near Paris. It branches off from A13 (also known as the Motorway of Normandy) at an exchange known as the ''Triangle de Rocquencourt'' located in the town of Bailly and merges with RN12 and RN10 at Bois-d'Arcy. Its total length is 8.5 km (5.3 mi). Access is free. It has not been lengthened since its construction, which makes it the oldest French motorway to have remained on its original route. Pont De Saint-Cloud
The pont de Saint-Cloud (''Saint-Cloud Bridge'') is a French bridge constructed of metal which crosses the Seine between the communes of Boulogne-Billancourt and Saint-Cloud in the French department of Hauts-de-Seine. The first pont de Saint-Cloud appeared in 841 because of a conflict between Charles the Bald et Lothaire I, and consisted of a wooden bridge supporting several mills. The Seine has been traversable from this location for twelve centuries, and tradition holds that no king of France has traversed it without suffering a sudden death. As a result, sovereigns have crossed the Seine by boat. The wooden bridge was demolished after the death of François I, and in 1556 his son Henri II constructed a new stone bridge consisting of eleven arches. Saint-Cloud () is a commune in the western suburbs of Paris, France, from the centre of Paris. Like other communes of Hauts-de-Seine such as Marnes-la-Coquette, Neuilly-sur-Seine and Vaucresson, Saint-Cloud is one of France's wealthiest towns, with the second-highest average household income of communities with 10,000 to 50,000 households.
