A. K. M. Zahirul Huq is a Justice of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. Early life Huq was born on 15 February 1971. He did his undergraduate and graduate degree in law from the University of Dhaka. Career Huq became a lawyer of the District Courts on 10 October 1995 and the High Court Division on 10 July 1999. Huq became a lawyer of the Appellate Division on 29 March 2018. He was appointed an additional judge of the High Court Division on 21 October 2019. In November 2019, Huq and Justice Obaidul Hassan upheld a lower court verdict ordering the seizure of Hong Kong bank accounts of M Morshed Khan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his son. Khan was represented by Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh and Ajmalul Hossain. The High Court Division, Supreme Court of Bangladesh ( bn, হাইকোর্ট ডিভিশন) popularly known as the 'High Court' is one of the two divisions of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, the other division being the Appellate Division. It consists of the Chief Justice of Bangladesh and the Judges of the High Court Division. The High Court Division exercises both original jurisdiction and appellate jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters. Turag River ( bn, তুরাগ নদী; ) is the upper tributary of the Buriganga, a major river in Bangladesh. The Turag originates from the Bangshi River, the latter an important ''tributary'' of the Dhaleshwari River, flows through Gazipur and joins the Buriganga at Mirpur in Dhaka District.
