A. Anwhar Raajhaa (b. 1949) is an Indian politician and served as a Member of Parliament elected from Tamil Nadu. Panaikulam
Panaikulam or Panaikkulam is a village located in the eastern part of Ramanathapuram district, Tamil Nadu, India. The inhabitants of this village are primarily Tamil Muslims. History The history of Panaikulam is known for the past 200 years only. Before that, there seems to be no recorded history. From the oral information collected from the old people and with the help of a will document written by one of the descendants in the family of first migrants, it is known that Tamil-speaking Muslims migrated from adjacent parts of Ramanathapuram (e.g. Kothakottai, Udaichiyarvalasai, aalappuli ) to a place with pond and lot of palm trees. They named it as Panai (meaning ''palm tree'') kulam (meaning ''pond''). This pond (now called as Pugaloorani) served as the water source for the people and their cattle. The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (; AIADMK) is an Indian regional political party with great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry. It is a Dravidian party founded by the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu M. G. Ramachandran (M.G.R.) at Madurai on 17 October 1972 as a breakaway faction from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam after M. The 2014 Indian general election polls in Tamil Nadu were held for 39 seats in the state on 24 April 2014. The total voter strength of Tamil Nadu is 53,752,682. The voting turnout in the election was 73.67%. The results of the elections were declared on 16 May 2014. Background As the term of 15th Lok Sabha ended in May 2014, Election Commission of India decided to conduct the election for the next Lok Sabha in April–May 2014. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) under M. Karunanidhi was part of both (United Progressive Alliance) UPA government until it withdrew support on 19 March 2013 over Sri Lanka issues. DMK suspended their south zone organisational secretary M. K. Alagiri for violating party discipline and later expelled him from the party in March 2014. Members of the 16th Lok Sabha were elected during the 2014 Indian general election. The elections were conducted in 9 phases from 7 April 2014 to 12 May 2014 by the Election Commission of India. The results of the election were declared on 16 May 2014. The Bharatiya Janata Party (of the NDA) achieved an absolute majority with 282 seats out of 543, 166 seats more than in the previous 15th Lok Sabha. Its PM candidate Narendra Modi took office on 26 May 2014 as the 14th prime minister of India. The first session was convened from 4 to 11 June 2014. Ramanathapuram (), also known as Ramnad, is a town and a municipality in Ramanathapuram district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the administrative headquarters of Ramanathapuram district and the second largest town (by population) in Ramanathapuram district. History The region is well known since Puranic ages. The estate of Ramnad included the Hindu holy island city of Rameswaram, from where, legend has it that the Hindu god Rama launched his invasion of Ravana's Lanka. On the conclusion of the war and Rama's success in it, he appointed a ''Sethupathi'' or "lord of the bridge" to guard the way to the island.
