Association Sportive Jeunes Tahitienes, is a football club from Papeete, Tahiti. It's one of the oldest football clubs in French Polynesia, been founded on 1923. It currently competes at Tahiti Ligue 1, after being promoted from Tahiti Ligue 2 in the 2017–18 season. Tahiti Ligue 1
The Tahitian Ligue 1 is the top division of the Fédération Tahitienne de Football in French Polynesia. The league is currently named Ligue 1 Vini for sponsorship reasons. Competition format Competition is divided into a regular season and play-offs. The regular season is a league format. At the end of the regular season the top 6 teams – and in past seasons the winners of the Moorea island league – enter a play-off league to determine the overall champions and qualifiers for the OFC Champions League. Meanwhile, the lower teams enter a separate play-off league along with teams from Ligue 2 to determine promotion and relegation for the following season. The league has a point scoring system whereby teams are awarded 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a defeat. Mikaël Roche
Mikaël Roche (born 24 December 1982) is a footballer from Papeete, Tahiti, who plays as a goalkeeper for A.S. Central Sport. He is a member of the Tahiti national football team. Career Roche started his career with local club AS Jeunes before moving to France to play for AS Monaco reserve team in 2000. He moved to ROS Menton in the following year, staying with the team until 2005, later transferring to US Marseille Endoume. Roche returned to Tahiti in 2006 to his former club AS Jeunes, joining AS Dragon in 2009 and winning the Tahiti First Division in 2011–12. Roche is also a PE teacher. He has stated this in an interview. International career Roche made his debut for the Tahiti in 2011 and was the starting goalkeeper at 2012 OFC Nations Cup before losing his starting place to Xavier Samin after the first two matches, as the team won the competition for the first time. The Tahiti Cup (also known as Coupe de Polynésie or Coupe de Tahiti Nui) is the premier football knockout tournament in French Polynesia. The 1987 Oceania Club Championship (known as the Qantas Pacific Champions' Cup at the time) was held in March 1987 in Adelaide, Australia.
