A.J. Alexy
Adam John Alexy (born April 21, 1998) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021 with the Texas Rangers. Amateur career Alexy attended Twin Valley High School in Elverson, Pennsylvania. He committed to play college baseball at Radford University. During his senior season at Twin Valley, Alexy went 9 innings in which he threw 164 pitches, leading his team to a 2–1 win. Alexy was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 11th round of the 2016 MLB draft, and signed with them for a $600,000 signing bonus, forgoing his commitment to Radford. The Round Rock Express are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. They are located in Round Rock, Texas, and play their home games at the Dell Diamond. The team is named for Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan, who was nicknamed "The Ryan Express." Ryan, along with son Reid Ryan and Don Sanders make up the team's ownership group, Ryan Sanders Baseball. The Express were established as a Double-A team of the Texas League (TL) in 2000. The Down East Wood Ducks are a Minor League Baseball team of the Carolina League and the owned-and-operated Single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. They are located in Kinston, North Carolina, and are named for the wood duck, a local colorful waterfowl.
