(an initialism for Entertainment Television) is an American basic cable channel which primarily focuses on pop culture, celebrity focused reality shows, and movies, owned by the NBCUniversal Television and Streaming division of NBCUniversal, a division of Comcast. As of January 2016, E! is available to 92.4 million households in the United States. History Movietime E! was originally launched on July 31, 1987, as Movietime, a service that aired movie trailers, entertainment news, event and awards coverage, and interviews as an early example of a national barker channel. The channel was founded by Larry Namer and Alan Mruvka. ''TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes'' is an American television series. Debuting as a weekly series, new episodes have been broadcast as infrequent specials during most of its run. It premiered on NBC in 1984, moved to ABC in 1998, and was revived in syndication in 2012. The NBC run of the series was co-produced by Carson Productions and Dick Clark Productions, and the ABC and syndication runs have been produced solely by Dick Clark Productions. ''Last Call with Carson Daly'' is an American late-night television series that was broadcast by NBC from 2002 to 2019. Hosted by former MTV personality Carson Daly, the series was initially formatted as a late-night talk show in line with ''The Tonight Show'' and '' Late Night''. In 2009, ''Last Call'' abandoned its studio-based format, and was retooled with as an entertainment program featuring interviews and performances (such as music and stand-up comedy) filmed on-location with Daly. Unlike other programs in NBC's late night lineup, ''Last Call'' typically recorded only 24 weeks of original shows a year, with the rest of the year being taken up by reruns. ''Revealed...with Jules Asner'' is a biography-style television show that first aired on E! Entertainment Television from 2001 to 2003. The host, Jules Asner, was considered one of the most well known personalities on the network, appearing in up to six hours of programming daily. She was the original host of the " Wild On" series and then co-anchor of "E! News Live" with Steven Kmetko. ''Revealed'' was a one-on-one interview show with Asner conducting the interviews. ''Mysteries and Scandals'' (also known as ''Mysteries & Scandals'') is an American television program hosted by A.J. Benza. The series was originally broadcast on the E! network from March 1998 until February 2001. Synopsis The series detailed the lives of various celebrities, both well known and somewhat obscure. Most celebrities that were featured endured hardships or died untimely deaths. The series interviewed various celebrities who knew the subject along with still photographs accompanied by narrations, and dramatic reenactments. The show was highly stylized and presented each episode in a noir fashion with backdrops set in various Hollywood locations and narrated in a hard-boiled, often sarcastic fashion by Benza.
