A. P. Udhayabhanu
A. P. Udayabhanu (1 October 1915 – 15 December 1999) was an Indian freedom fighter, politician, journalist, writer, and social activist from the state of Kerala. Udayabhanu was a leader of the Indian National Congress and served as the president of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (known at the time as the Thiru-Kochi Pradesh Congress). He was first elected to the Travancore Legislative Assembly in 1944. As a journalist, Udayabhanu worked as the chief editor of many newspapers, including '' Mathrubhumi''. His articles and columns appeared in many Malayalam periodicals and newspapers on a regular basis, primarily commenting on social issues. Personal life Udayabhanu was born on 1 October 1915 to Komath Kunhiraman Channar and Alummoottil Narayani Channatti, in Muttom near Haripad of Central Travancore. Alappuzha
Alappuzha or Alleppey () is the administrative headquarters of Alappuzha district in States and territories of India, state of Kerala, India. Narayana Guru, , (20 August 1856 – 20 September 1928) was a philosopher, spiritual leader and social reformer in India. He led a reform movement against the injustice in the caste-ridden society of Kerala in order to promote spiritual enlightenment and social equality. Biography Narayanan, né Nanu, was born on 20 August 1856 to Madan Asan and Kuttiyamma in an Ezhava family, in the village of Chempazhanthy near Thiruvananthapuram, in the erstwhile state of Travancore. His early education was in the gurukula way under Chempazhanthi Mootha Pillai during which time his mother died when he was 15. Deenabandhu is a defunct Malayalam language newspaper printed daily and published from the Thrissur city, Kerala in India. The newspaper was the first periodicals published from Kingdom of Cochin which supported the Indian Independence Movement. History Deenabandhu was started as a weekly on 26 January 1941 from Thrissur city with V. R. Krishnan Ezhuthachan as editor-in-chief. The newspaper was named after Charles Freer Andrews, known affectionately as ''Deenbandhu'' or ''Friend of the Poor'', a name given by Mahatma Gandhi for his contributions to the Indian Independence Movement.
