A.F.C. Mansfield is a football club based in Forest Town, a suburb of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. Nicknamed 'The Bulls', they are currently members of the and play at the Forest Town Arena. History A.F.C. Mansfield was formed in June 2012 by three former directors of Mansfield Town following a series of management disputes. The new club were immediately given a place in the Central Midlands League, and were placed in the North Division. After finishing as runners-up in their first season, the club won the North Division in 2013–14, earning promotion to Division One of the Northern Counties East League. Forest Town, Nottinghamshire
Forest Town is a former mining village on the outskirts of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. After continuous development it is no longer a separate entity, nowadays being simply an area within Mansfield. An old part of Forest Town known as ''The Avenues'' is the high-density housing built as homes for the workers from the nearby ''Crown Farm Colliery'' (also known as 'Mansfield Colliery'), once a major employer. After closure of the coal mine in early 1988, the site has gradually been transformed to accommodate manufacturing in a variety of units on an industrial estate. A nearby development was the fabric manufacturing factory built on ''heathland'' by the Japanese organisation Toray. The Football Association Challenge Trophy, commonly known as the FA Trophy, is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater to those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup. The 2020–21 Northern Counties East Football League season was the 39th in the history of Northern Counties East Football League, a football competition in England. Due to the restrictions on clubs' ability to play matches in the COVID-19 lockdowns, competitions at Steps 3–6 were curtailed on 24 February 2021. Promotions and restructuring The scheduled restructuring of non-League football took place at the end of the season, with a new division added to the Northern Premier League at Step 4 for 2021–22.
