The 95th New York Infantry Regiment ("Warren Rifles") was an infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Service The 95th New York Infantry was organized at New York City, New York beginning in November 1861 and mustered in for three years service on March 6, 1862 under the command of Colonel George H. Biddle. The companies were recruited principally: A, B, C, D, G and H in New York City; E in Brooklyn and New York City; F at Haverstraw; I at Sing Sing; and K at Carmel, Peekskill, Sing Sing and White Plains. The colonel () in the United States Army, Marine Corps, Air Force and Space Force, is the most senior field-grade military officer rank, immediately above the rank of lieutenant colonel and just below the rank of brigadier general. Colonel is equivalent to the naval rank of captain in the other uniformed services.
