Radio Broadcasting
Radio broadcasting is transmission of audio (sound), sometimes with related metadata, by radio waves to radio receivers belonging to a public audience. In terrestrial radio broadcasting the radio waves are broadcast by a land-based radio station, while in satellite radio the radio waves are broadcast by a satellite in Earth orbit. To receive the content the listener must have a broadcast radio receiver (''radio''). ABC Classic FM
ABC Classic, formerly ABC-FM (also ABC Fine Music), and then ABC Classic FM, is an Australian classical music radio station available in Australia and internationally. Its website features classical music news, features and listening guides. It is operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). History ABC Classic was established in 1976 as "ABC-FM", and later for a short time was known as "ABC Fine Music" (a play on the letters FM). It became known as ABC Classic FM in 1994, before adopting its current name in January 2019. It was the ABC's first experiment in FM broadcasting – which had become a necessity in Australia as broadcasters ran out of AM frequencies on which to transmit. RadioTAB is a radio station primarily covering horse and greyhound racing in Australia and internationally, operated by Tabcorp, which operates the Totalisator Agency Boards based in Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia and Northern Territory. RadioTAB's studios are in Brisbane City. History 4TAB commenced 1 January 1992. The official opening was conducted on air on 23 January 1992. Parkes is a town in the Central West region of New South Wales, Australia. It is the main settlement in the local government area of Parkes Shire. ABC Mid North Coast
ABC Mid North Coast is an ABC Local Radio station based in Port Macquarie and broadcasting to the Mid North Coast region in New South Wales. This includes the towns and cities of Grafton, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey and Taree. The station began as 2KP in 1954 originally as a relay of the national program. Studios were opened in Kempsey in 1956 but local news came from 2NR in Grafton until 1960 when the first locally produced bulletins began. The station relocated to new studios in Port Macquarie in 2004.
