94th Division (People's Republic Of China)
History The 94th Division (lang-zh:第94师)was a military formation of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China. It was created on February under ''the Regulation of the Redesignations of All Organizations and Units of the Army'', issued by Central Military Commission on November 1, 1948, basing on the 6th New-formed Division, Jiaodong Column, Huadong Military District. Its history can be traced to the Independent Regiments of the Nanhai, Beihai and Xihai Military Sub-district of the Huadong Military District. Under the command of 32nd Corps it took part in battles during the Chinese civil war. In January 1949 the division was attached to the 31st Corps and liberated the Dongshan island with 91st Division. In October 1950 the 32nd Corps was disbanded, and the division was transferred to the 27th Corps. The 94th Infantry Division (German: ''94. Infanteriedivision'') was a German Army infantry division in World War II. History Formation and the west campaign The 94th Infantry Division was raised in September 1939 as part of the fifth wave from men of Military District number 4 ( Wehrkreis 4), which comprised Saxony and Thuringia. The division was then sent to the Saarland in December, should the French invade. The division then aided the 6th Army in their border-crossing the following year. 94th Division (Imperial Japanese Army)
The was an infantry division in the Imperial Japanese Army. Its call sign was the (the first Japanese division with a two-letter call sign). It was created 14 October 1944 in Taiping, Perak. The nucleus for the formation were the 12 and 18th independent garrison groups. It was a triangular division. Action The division was raised and incorporated into the 29th army on 16 October 1944 to bolster defences in Malaya after the Japanese Army's defeat at the Battle of Imphal. The division was to be used to defend Malaya against the expected Operation Zipper, and took a defensive positions on the north of Malaysia.
