7th Wonder
Malta competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn, Estonia. The Maltese entry was selected through the Malta Song for Europe contest, where the winner was Ira Losco with the song "7th Wonder", written by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg. Before Eurovision Malta Song for Europe 2002 Public Broadcasting Services (PBS), the Maltese broadcaster, organised a national final to select the 2002 Maltese entry to the Eurovision Song Contest. Malta Song for Europe 2002 was held on 15 and 16 February, where the winner was decided through an expert jury, comprising 5/8 of the overall vote, and public televoting, comprising the remaining 3/8 of the vote. Sixteen songs competed to be the Maltese entry to Eurovision, with the final winner being Ira Losco with the song "7th Wonder". Ira Losco
Ira Losco M.Q.R. (born 31 July 1981) is a Maltese pop singer. Her career breakthrough came in 2002, when she represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the song "7th Wonder". She placed second in the competition, Malta's best ever result. Fourteen years later, she returned and represented Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song " Walk on Water", placing twelfth. Losco has released six studio albums so far in her career and is one of the most successful Maltese musicians of all time. In 2018, she served as a judge on the inaugural season of ''X Factor Malta''. She returned to serve as a judge in 2019. Olivia Lewis (born 18 October 1978) is a singer from Qormi, Malta. She has competed in the Malta Song For Eurovision festival, which selects the country's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest several times. Lawrence Gray (born January 30, 1975) is a Maltese singer. Early in his career, the rock band Meer was formed and Gray was the singer and frontman. He recorded six songs with this band at Temple Studios in Malta.
