77th Grey Cup
The 77th Grey Cup was the 1989 Canadian Football League championship game played between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at SkyDome in Toronto; this was the first Grey Cup game held at the stadium as it opened in June 1989. The Roughriders defeated the Tiger-Cats, 43–40 on Dave Ridgway's winning field-goal. SkyDome
Rogers Centre (originally SkyDome) is a multi-purpose retractable roof stadium in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, situated at the base of the CN Tower near the northern shore of Lake Ontario. Opened in 1989 on the former Railway Lands, it is home to the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB). Nick Bastaja (born February 4, 1953 in Grantham, England) is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman who played fourteen seasons in the Canadian Football League. Tony Champion (born March 19, 1963 in Humboldt, Tennessee) is a former American football and Canadian Football League player. Early sports career A multi-sport star, Champion lived up to his name as a football standout at the high school, college and pro level. Tim McCray
Tim McCray (born August 20, 1960 in Waycross, Georgia) was a Canadian Football League running back for the Ottawa Rough Riders from 1984 through 1985, and for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 1986 through 1990. He was an All-Star in 1989, the same year the Roughriders won the 77th Grey Cup. In 1989, Tim won his first Grey Cup and was selected to the All-West and All-CFL All-Star team for the first time. He established career highs in all offensive categories as well as leading the CFL and breaking the Roughriders record for all-purpose yardage in the season with 2,684 yards. Donald Narcisse
Donald Narcisse (born February 26, 1965) is a former wide receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the Canadian Football League. He played college football at Texas Southern University. He signed with Saskatchewan as a free agent on September 1, 1987. A smaller player at and , Narcisse was effective at short-yardage plays, often in situations needing a first down. As a result of rarely being injured and giving strong on-field performances, Narcisse shared and held a few records. Jeff Fairholm (born November 7, 1965) is a former professional Canadian football player. He played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League as a slotback and wide receiver. He was a member of Saskatchewan's Grey Cup winning team of 1989. The Saskatchewan Roughriders are a professional Canadian football team based in Regina, Saskatchewan.
