7º TAP Rallye De Portugal
The 1973 Rallye de Portugal (formally the 7th TAP Rally of Portugal) was the third round of the inaugural World Rally Championship season. Run in mid-March in southern Portugal on a mixture of asphalt and gravel road, gravel, the rally began with a concentration run from a number of European cities, covering about 4,600 km and ending in Estoril, Portugal. Report In 1973, and for several years afterward, only manufacturers were given points for finishes in WRC events. As in the earlier Monte Carlo Rally, the Alpine A110s led the event, taking first and second place well ahead of other competitors. Fiat had a disastrous rally, with all three of its cars failing to finish, limiting Fiat to points gained from local entrants. Despite a significant number of international entries, only four non-Portuguese teams finished in the top 15 at the end. The Opel Ascona is a large family car (D-segment in Europe) that was produced by the German automaker Opel from 1970 to 1988. It was produced in three separate generations, beginning with rear-wheel-drive and ending up as a front-wheel drive J-car derivative. Jorge Amaral Rodrigues (born 1 June 1970), known as Amaral, is a former Portuguese professional footballer who played as a right winger, and a current manager. António Mendo de Castel-Branco do Amaral Osório Borges (18 November 1949 – 25 August 2013) was a Portuguese economist and banker. He was also a Managing Director and International Adviser of Goldman Sachs. Biography Early years to year 2000 Borges was born in Ramalde, Porto. He received his bachelor's degree in economics from the Technical University of Lisbon in 1972, and his master's degree from Stanford University. In 1980 he received his Ph.D in Economics from Stanford University. Later Borges taught at INSEAD. He returned to Portugal in 1990, where he served as Vice Governor of the Banco de Portugal while teaching at the Nova School of Business and Economics at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
