The 7th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards Night was held on March 7, 1959, for the Outstanding Achievements for the year 1958. The Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (also known as the FAMAS Awards) are the annual honors given by the Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS), an organization composed of award-winning writers and movie columnists, for achievements in Philippine cinema for a calendar year. Members of the academy including avid movie viewers, fans or enthusiasts cast their votes on who should win the statuettes in the different categories they were nominated. Romeo Vasquez
Ricardo Alandy Sumilang (April 9, 1939 – May 2, 2017), also known by his stage name Romeo Vasquez, was a Filipino actor and former matinee idol of Philippine cinema. Career Vasquez was discovered by director Armando Garces who saw him while playing basketball in San Juan, Metro Manila, brought him to Sampaguita Pictures. He did several bit roles before his big break. He was introduced in ''Miss Tilapia'' (1956) starring Gloria Romero and Susan Roces. He played younger brother to Amalia Fuentes in ''Lydia'' (1956). Marlene Daudén
Marlene Daudén (born 1941 in the Philippines) is considered one of the greatest Filipina drama actresses of all time. She achieved her legendary status as a film thespian during her film career that spanned from the 1950s up to the 1970s. Lauro Delgado
Lauro Delgado (December 10, 1932 – January 15, 1978) was a Filipino actor, born as Loreto Porciuncula in Bocaue, Bulacan. He was discovered by the director Gerardo de Leon. Fernando Poe, Jr

Luis Gonzales
Luis F. Mercado (June 21, 1928 – March 15, 2012) also known as Luis Gonzales, was a Filipino actor who appeared in more than 100 films during his career, most of them by Sampaguita Pictures. Early life Raised in Tondo, Manila, Gonzales may be best known for his portrayals of former President Ferdinand Marcos in two biographical films in the 1960s: ''Iginuhit ng Tadhana'' ("Marked by Fate", 1965), a political propaganda film; and a dramatic film, ''Pinagbuklod ng Langit'' ("Heaven was Gathered", 1969).
