7 Years (Superheist Song)
"7 Years" is the lead single by the Australian nu metal band Superheist from their second studio album, ''Identical Remote Controlled Reactions''. It was issued on 20 May 2002 by the Pivotal Records label via Shock Records. The track was co-written by all five members, Richard William "DW" Norton on lead guitar, backing vocals; Joseph Andrew Biro on lead vocals; Sean Robert P Pentecost on drums; Fetah Sabawi on synthesisers and samplers; and Andrew Corey Dedman on bass guitar. Norton co-produced the track with Adam Rhodes at Backbeach Studios (co-owned by Norton) in Rye, Victoria. The single reached No. 29 on the ARIA Singles Chart – the group's highest peaking single. Background In December 2001 after the departure of their founding singer, Roderick "Burger" Macleod, Superheist recruited a new singer, Joey Biro (ex—From The Inside). Superheist
Superheist is an Australian metal band, which formed in 1993. They have released two EPs, thirteen singles, one compilation/live album and four studio albums, two of which, 2001's ''The Prize Recruit'' and 2002's ''Identical Remote Controlled Reactions'', reached the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. After a twelve-year hiatus, their 2016 comeback album "Ghosts of the Social Dead" reached No. 3 on the AIR Charts and remained in the Top 10 for four weeks. Four of the group's singles, "Crank the System" (November 2000), "Bullet" (March 2001), " 7 Years" (May 2002) and "A Dignified Rage" (September 2002), each peaked in the Top 50 on the related ARIA Singles Chart. "Bullet" is the second single from the debut album ''The Prize Recruit'', by Australian nu metal group Superheist. It is a reworked version of "Bullet for You", a B-side from the previous single "Crank the System". It exceeds the original in quality and bombast. Big Day Out
The Big Day Out (BDO) was an annual music festival that was held in five Australian cities: Sydney, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, and Perth, as well as Auckland, New Zealand. The festival was held during summer, typically in January of each year but was sometimes held as late as early February in some cities including Perth. The event was conceptualised after the Violent Femmes announced a tour of Australia. Promoters Ken West and Vivian Lees sought another act as middle-level support for the band's tour. ''Identical Remote Controlled Reactions'' is the second studio album by Australian nu metal group Superheist. It is the only album to feature Joey Biro as lead vocalist. The album proved far stronger than their previous album, ''The Prize Recruit'', in song personality and overall weight in sound.
