The 6th Platino Awards was presented at Gran Tlachco Theater in Riviera Maya, Mexico on May 12, 2019, to honour the best in Ibero-American 2018 in film, films of 2018. The ceremony was televised in Latin America by TNT (U.S. TV network)#Latin America, TNT, and hosted by Cecilia Suárez and Santiago Segura. Riviera Maya
The Riviera Maya () is a tourism and resort district south of Cancun, Mexico. It straddles the coastal Federal Highway 307, along the Caribbean coastline of the state of Quintana Roo, located in the eastern portion of the Yucatán Peninsula. Historically, this district started at the city of Playa del Carmen and ended at the village of Tulum, although the towns of Puerto Morelos, situated to the north of Playa del Carmen, as well as the town of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, situated to the south of Tulum, are both currently being promoted as part of the Riviera Maya tourist corridor. The Platino Award for Best Ibero-American Picture (Spanish: ''Premio Platino a la mejor película iberoamericana'') is one of the Platino Awards, Ibero-America's film awards, presented annually by the Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de los Productores Audiovisuales (EGEDA) and the Federación Iberoamericana de Productores Cinematográficos y Audiovisuales (FIPCA). It was first given in 2014, with Sebastian Lelio's drama film '' Gloria'' being the inaugural winner. Antonio de la Torre Martín (born 18 January 1968) is a Spanish actor. De la Torre is the actor with most nominations overall to the Goya Awards.
