6ter (pronounced: ister is a French television network which is available free-to-air through digital terrestrial television, satellite and DSL. It is a subsidiary of the Groupe M6; the name 6ter has been selected for the channel as M6's little "sister". It is available in France on channel 22. History Following the call of applications of the CSA for the launch of six new channels on the DTT, Groupe M6 presented three projects of channels : 6ter, M6 Boutique & Co and Hexa. On March 27, the CSA chose 6ter to be part of the 6 new channels to be launched on December 12, 2012, in HDTV (1080i). In 2022, the channel would be sold to Altice alongside TFX (owned by TF1 Group). Like its sisters M6 and W9, 6ter have a Swiss subfeed, which air in Swiss providers and in free-to-air on satellite. TFX (TV Channel)
TFX (formerly NT1) is a French free television network owned by Groupe TF1. History TFX, under the name NT1, was created in 2004 by AB Groupe for the launch of the TNT platform scheduled for March 2005. In late 2004, AB Group announced their intention to call the channel La Quatre (The Four). However, in January 2005, France Télévisions announced that they would rebrand their channel Festival as France 4. AB Groupe decided to revert to the NT1 name. In June 2009, TF1 Group agreed to buy the channel from AB Groupe, as well as AB's 40% stake in TMC Monte Carlo (which would take TF1's total stake to 80%). The deal was cleared by France's competition authority and subsequently by the Council of State in December 2010, dismissing an appeal by Métropole Télévision. M6 (), also known as , is the most profitable private national French public television channel and the third most watched television network in the French-speaking world. M6 is the head channel of the M6 Group media empire that owns several TV channels, magazines, publications, movie production and media-related firms etc. It is owned by RTL Group. Gulli
Gulli (; stylised as gulli) is a French free-to-air television channel focused on kids programming for those aged 3 to 14. It was created as a result of a partnership between Lagardère Active and state-owned broadcaster France Télévisions. In 2019, the M6 Group bought Gulli as well as the television division of the Lagardère Active Group. History The channel was launched on 18 November 2005 on the digital terrestrial television platform in France. Ten years later, on 1 July 2015, Gulli launched its own HD simulcast feed on the Astra 1 satellite. On 5 April 2016, its HD feed is launched on DTT. Gulli was created as a result of a partnership between a kids-television pioneer companies Lagardère Active and the state-owned France Télévisions. W9 () is a French television network available through digital terrestrial television Télévision Numérique Terrestre, TNT, Satellite television, satellite and Internet television, ADSL. It is a subsidiary of the Groupe M6; the name W9 has been selected for the channel because "W9" is a mirror writing, mirror written equivalent of "M6", and as it was the nation's ninth broadcast network. History The name W9 was invented by Les Inconnus in the early 90s with a sketch that spoofed M6's music programming at the time, with the logo being a rotated version of M6's. The sketch portrays the interaction between Roxane (played by Pascal Légitimus) with an American accent who wants to ask Michel (played by Bernard Campan) about the name of the excerpt of the song that was being played. Téva is a French general-interest public television channel, privately owned, with a female and family focus, belonging to the M6 Group. Téva has been broadcast in 16:9 since 10 November 2009 and in HD quality since 8 November 2011. Digital terrestrial television (DTTV or DTT, or DTTB with "broadcasting") is a technology for terrestrial television in which land-based (terrestrial) television stations broadcast television content by radio waves to televisions in consumers' residences in a digital format.
