611th Air And Space Operations Center
The 611th Air Operations Center is an active unit of the United States Air Force's Eleventh Air Force. Based at Joint Base Elmendorf–Richardson, Alaska, it was activated in 1994. The 611th Air Operations Group was established as a new organization on 1 July 1994. It may have included the 3rd ASOS, 611th Air Control Squadron and 611th Air Operations Squadron. Around 1997 the 611th Air Intelligence and 611th Air Communications Flights became part of the group. On 19 February 1999, the 11th Operational Weather Squadron joined the group. In 2004 the 611th Air Control Squadron was transferred to the Alaska Air National Guard and redesignated the 176th Air Control Squadron. On 1 October 2007, the group was redesignated the 611th Air Operations Center. Eielson Air Force Base is a United States Air Force (USAF) base located approximately 26 miles (42 km) southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska and just southeast of Moose Creek, Alaska. It was established in 1943 as Mile 26 Satellite Field and redesignated Eielson Air Force Base on 13 January 1948. It has been a Superfund site since 1989. 354th Fighter Wing
The 354th Fighter Wing is a United States Air Force wing that is part of Pacific Air Forces (PACAF). It is the host wing at Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, and is assigned to the Eleventh Air Force (11 AF). The wing replaced the 343d Fighter Wing on 20 August 1993 as part of a service-wide effort to preserve the lineage of the Air Force's most honored wings. Prior to its inactivation, the 343d was the oldest surviving air combat unit in Alaska, with a lineage dating back to the Aleutian Campaign. The 353rd Combat Training Squadron is a United States Air Force training squadron responsible for Exercise RED FLAG – ALASKA held annually in Alaska. Overview All the activities on Alaska's three weapons training ranges – incorporating more than 68,000 square miles (180,000 km2) of airspace, 28 threat systems, and 225 targets for range and exercise operations – are planned and controlled by 353rd CTS personnel.
