68th Army (People's Republic Of China)
The 68th Army was a field army of the Soviet Union's Red Army. It was formed in February 1943 from the headquarters of the 57th Army and fought in the Battle of Demyansk (1943) and the Staraya-Russa Offensive (1943), part of Operation Polyarnaya Zvezda. After spending several months in reserve, the army fought in the Battle of Smolensk (1943) between August and October. The army was disbanded in November and its troops became part of the 5th Army. Mikhail Semyonovich Khozin (russian: Михаи́л Семёнович Хо́зин; 27 February 1979) was a Soviet general. He was the commander of the Leningrad Front from October 1941 to June 1942, until he was relieved from command and replaced by Leonid Govorov for failing to relieve the 2nd Shock Army. Redya River
The Redya (russian: Редья) is a river in Kholmsky, Poddorsky, Starorussky, and Parfinsky Districts of Novgorod Oblast in Russia. It is a left tributary of the Lovat. It is long, and the area of its basin . The source of the Redya is in Lake Rdeyskoye in Kholmsky District. Yevgeny Petrovich Zhuravlev (Russian: Евгений Петрович Журавлев), (October 8, 1896 - May 11, 1983) was a Soviet lieutenant-general in World War II. Biography Zhuravlev was born in the village of Roudkovka in the Chernigov Governorate in the Russian Empire, now in Ukraine. Siege Of Leningrad
