61st Anti-aircraft Missiles Regiment (Romania)
The 61st Anti-aircraft Missiles Regiment "Pelindava" (''Regimentul 61 Rachete Antiaeriene'') is an air defense regiment of the Romanian Land Forces. Its headquarters are located in Craiova, Dolj County. The regiment was part of the 6th Anti-aircraft Missile Brigade, which was disbanded in 2006, due to a reorganization process of the Romanian Land Forces. Later on, it was part of the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missiles Regiment subordinated to the 1st Infantry Division. Craiova (, also , ), is Romania's 6th Cities in Romania, largest city and capital of Dolj County, and situated near the east bank of the river Jiu River, Jiu in central Oltenia. The 6th Anti-aircraft Missiles Brigade "Râmnic" (''Brigada 6 Rachete Antiaeriene'') was an anti-aircraft brigade of the Romanian Land Forces. It was one of the oldest anti-aircraft military units of the Romanian Armed Forces, being formed during World War I. The brigade was subordinated in 2005 to the 1st Territorial Army Corps, and its headquarters were located in Râmnicu Sărat. The 1st Infantry Division ''Dacica'' was one of the major units of the Romanian Land Forces, with its headquarters located in Bucharest. It was the heraldic successor of the Romanian First Army.
