''606'' (pronounced six-oh-six) is a weekend early evening football phone-in programme, broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live throughout the British football season. It covers topics relating to the current affairs of football in the United Kingdom. The programme gets its name from the approximate time the show starts on a Saturday evening – six minutes past six – following '' Sports Report''. It currently airs until 20:00 on Saturdays and 19:30 on Sundays, and has been produced by Shooting Shark Productions Limited since 2015: it was formerly made by Campbell Davison Media from 2003, then Somethin' Else Productions from 2009. As well as listeners phoning in, a selection of texts and e-mails to the studio are read out. Tim Lovejoy
Timothy Paul Lovejoy (born 28 March 1968) is an English television presenter best known for hosting Saturday morning football programme ''Soccer AM'' with Helen Chamberlain for over a decade and ''BT Sports Panel'' on Saturday mornings on the BT Sport channel. He presents ''Sunday Brunch'' on Channel 4. Career Early career Lovejoy began his television career as a covering VJ for MTV. He then joined Planet 24, working as a researcher for ''The Big Breakfast'' before going on to produce the show. BBC Radio 5 was a national radio station that broadcast sports, children's and educational programmes. It ran from 1990 to 1994 and was transmitted via analogue radio on 693 and 909 kHz AM. On 28 March 1994, three years and seven months after the station started, it was replaced by Radio 5 Live, following the success of rolling news coverage of the Gulf War on Radio 4 News FM. In broadcasting, a phone-in or call-in is a programme format in which viewers or listeners are invited to air their live comments by telephone, usually in respect of a specific topic selected for discussion on the day of the broadcast. On radio (especially talk radio), it is common for an entire programme to be dedicated to a phone-in session. On television, phone-in's are often part of a wider discussion programme: a current example in the UK is the "Jeremy Vine" TV show. The concept dates to the early radio era: a December 1924 BBC 5NG Nottingham phone-in programme is described in a 1925 Radio Times article: "listeners ... enjoyed the novelty of hearing their own voices taking part". Mark Andrew Chapman (nicknamed Chappers) (born 11 October 1973) is a British television and radio presenter who, mainly working in sport, presents ''Match of the Day 2'' on BBC One and Sky Sports' coverage of the EFL Cup. He also hosts ''Saturday afternoons'' plus ''The Monday Night Club'' on '' 5 live Sport''. DJ Spoony (born Johnathan Joseph; 25 June 1970) is a British DJ and radio presenter. He is a member of the UK garage production trio, the Dreem Teem. Early career Dj Spoony was born in Hackney, East London to British West Indian parents. His career started on London Underground (a leading pirate radio station in the mid-nineties), forming the trio the Dreem Teem with Mikee B (of Top Buzz) and Timmi Magic. Alan Green (born 25 June 1952) is a Northern Irish former sports commentator, mainly on football but also on golf, rowing and the Olympic Games. Green was one of BBC Radio 5 Live's most senior football commentators and was a winner of a Sony Radio Academy Award for Sports Broadcaster of the Year.
