58th National Film Awards
The 58th National Film Awards, presented by Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema for the year 2010. The selection process started by announcing the invitation for the awards on 18 March 2011. For feature and non-feature films, all the films certified by Central Board of Film Certification, India between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2010 were made eligible whereas for the best writing on cinema, all the books and articles as well reviews on Indian cinema published between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2010 were made eligible for the awards. Three different committees were instituted in order to judge the various entries for feature film, non-feature film and best writing on cinema sections; headed by J. P. Directorate Of Film Festivals
The Directorate of Film Festivals in India was an organisation that initiated and presented the International Film Festival of India, the National Film Awards and the Indian Panorama. Although the Directorate helped appoint members of the jury panels each year, it had no input on which films are selected for consideration and which films ultimately win awards at the various functions it initiates. Suman Haripriya
Suman Haripriya (born 1 June 1979) is an Indian film director, producer and politician. Personal life Haripriya was born on 1 June 1979 in Guwahati to Jiten Chakravarty and Bijoya Chakravarty. Her mother, Bijoya Chakravarty is ex-Member of Parliament of Bharatiya Janata Party from Gauhati. Haripriya holds Master of Arts in Sociology from New Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia, Diploma in Film and Television from Noida's Asian Academy of Film & Television and Jyotish Acharya from New Delhi's Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Prahlad Kakkar
Prahlad Kakkar (born 24 March 1950 in Mumbai) is an Indian ad film director, best known for his work on the famous Pepsi TV commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar. He is the founder and main director for Genesis Film Productions, established in 1977 In 1995 he set up 'Lacadives', a scuba-diving school, along with his wife Mitali Kakar at Kadmat Island, in collaboration with the Govt. of Lakshadweep. He also runs a coffee shop, and Casa Amore, a wine bar and restaurant, set up in Mumbai in 2001. Durai (born 25 February 1940) is an Indian film director who was mostly active during the 1970s. As of 2014, he has directed 46 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Though known for his work in commercial cinema, he made women-centric films like '' Avalum Penthaane'' and ''Pasi'', which won two National Film Awards.
