''Five Three One - Double Seven O Four'' is the 19th UK studio album by the English rock/pop group the Hollies. When rendered as digits, the album title is the band's name upside down in digital number view (it would appear like this: hOLLIES or ). The idea is credited to guitarist Terry Sylvester. Overview and recording Singer Allan Clarke left The Hollies after the release of their previous album '' A Crazy Steal'' in 1978. During his absence, the band worked with Gary Brooker of Procol Harum. They recorded his (and Keith Reid) song "Harlequin" with B. J. Wilson on drums, due to the illness of the Hollies’ drummer Bobby Elliott. Keith Stuart Brian Reid (born 19 October 1946 Allmusic.com biography by Jason Ankeny/ref>) is a lyricist and songwriter who wrote the lyrics of every song released by Procol Harum that was not previously recorded by someone else, with the exception of the songs on their 2017 album ''Novum''. Biography Reid grew up in London and is Jewish, the son of a Holocaust survivor. He left school at an early age to pursue a songwriting career. He met Gary Brooker, lead singer with Procol Harum, with whom he co-wrote most of the band's songs (some music was written by organist Matthew Fisher and by guitarist Robin Trower), in 1966. The Sensational Alex Harvey Band were a Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1972. Thin Lizzy are an Irish hard rock band formed in Dublin in 1969. Gary Benson (born Harry Hyams) is an English singer and songwriter. Career Benson spent eight weeks on the UK Singles Chart in 1975 with his own composition, " Don't Throw It All Away". The single, released on the State Records label (State Records STAT10), reached No. 20 on the chart, leading to an appearance on BBC Television's ''Top of the Pops''. The song had originally been recorded by the Shadows, and they had performed it in the 1975 ''A Song for Europe'' contest, where it finished fourth of six entries. David Pomeranz (born February 9, 1951) is an American singer, composer, lyricist, and writer for musical theatre. He is also an ambassador for Operation Smile. Solo career Born and raised on Long Island, Pomeranz expressed interest in music from an early age, singing in the synagogue choir, learning to play the piano, guitar and drums, and writing and recording songs by the age of fourteen.
