5th PMPC Star Awards For Television
The 5th PMPC Star Awards for Television were held at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila on October 26, 1991, and broadcast on IBC Channel 13. The awards night was hosted by Vilma Santos, Eric Quizon, Vic Sotto, Mari Kaimo and to be directed by Al Quinn. The theme of the awards night is ''Magkatapat pero Magkaibigan'' (Opposite but Confirm) as it marks the 25th anniversary of PMPC. Manila Metropolitan Theater
The Metropolitan Theater ( fil, Tanghalang Metropolitan), abbreviated as MET, is a Philippine Art Deco building found near the Mehan Garden located on Padre Burgos Avenue corner Arroceros Street, near the Manila Central Post Office. It was designed by architect Juan M. Arellano and inaugurated on December 10, 1931. History Early years In 1862, the Teatro del Príncipe Alfonso XII was built within Plaza Arroceros, near the present-day Metropolitan Theater. This theater stood until the late 1860s or early 1870s, when the old theater was burnt down. It was in 1924, during the American Colonial period that the idea of constructing a theater in Manila came about. The Philippine Legislature then approved Senator Juan Alegre's proposal to build a theater within the Mehan Garden (now Sining Kayumanggi). ''Lovingly Yours, Helen'' is a Philippine television drama anthology broadcast by GMA Network and Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation. The show is the second longest running drama anthology in Philippine television history. Originally hosted by Helen Vela, it premiered on September 7, 1980. The show transferred to BBC in September 1984. It returned to GMA Network in April 1986. The show concluded on September 1, 1996. It was replaced by ''Anna Karenina'' in its timeslot. The anthology evolved into a television drama anthology from a daily counseling program on radio with the same title, originally aired on GMA's AM station DZBB. It was presented by television/radio personality Helen Vela. Each episode is based on the letter sender's life stories sent by viewers. Sonny Parsons
Parsons Agliam Nabiula Jr. (August 22, 1958 – May 10, 2020), known professionally as Sonny Parsons, was a Filipino actor, singer, director and politician in the Philippines. He was a member of Hagibis, an all-male sing-and-dance group in the late 1970s to the early 1980s, who were coined as the Filipino version of the Village People.
