''5 Songs EP'' is the first EP by South African rock band Seether. It was released through Wind-up Records on 10 August 2002. Seether
Seether are a South African rock band founded in 1999 in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. The band originally performed under the name Saron Gas until 2002, when they moved to the United States and changed it to Seether to avoid confusion with the deadly chemical known as sarin gas. Lead vocalist and guitarist Shaun Morgan is the band's longest serving member, bassist Dale Stewart joined shortly after formation while drummer John Humphrey joined them for the band's second album. Since 2018, the band has been employing second guitarist Corey Lowery. Several notable guitarists like Corey's brother Clint and Troy McLawhorn have toured or recorded with the band, however, Shaun has recorded most guitar parts for the band's records. Post-grunge
Post-grunge is a derivative of grunge that has a less abrasive or intense tone than traditional grunge. Wind-up Entertainment was an American independent record label founded by Alan and Diana Meltzer in 1997. It was based in New York City and was distributed by BMG Distribution. Wind-up's best-selling artists worldwide were Creed and Evanescence. ''Disclaimer'' is the debut studio album by South African rock band Seether. The album was released on 20 August 2002. It features three successful singles which would remain some of the band's most well-known songs. It is their first release under their current name after changing it from ''Saron Gas'' in 2002 to avoid confusion with the deadly nerve agent sarin gas. Background and release A great deal of pre-production took place in South Africa with supervision from a Wind-up representative. It continued in New York City before the album recording sessions began in Los Angeles. Veteran session drummer Josh Freese filled the role in the studio before an audition took place at Leads Rehearsal Studio. Among sixteen others, Nick Oshiro auditioned and joined the band in 2001. Seether would also enlist guitarist Patrick Callahan in the fall of that year after performing alongside his then-current band in Philadelphia. Fine Again
"Fine Again" is a song by South African rock band Seether. It is the band's debut single from the album ''Fragile'' (which was released when Seether were still going by the name "Saron Gas"). It was also later included on the '' 5 Songs'' EP, and it is the third track on their album ''Disclaimer''. During live shows, Shaun Morgan has been known to dedicate the song to Dave Williams of Drowning Pool as well as Dimebag Darrell of Pantera. Shaun Morgan wrote the song after his parents got divorced. Music video The video for the song, directed by Paul Fedor, features the band playing on a soundstage while three walls behind them display filmstrip slides of people holding opaque rectangles with phrases depicting their inner feelings on them explaining the reason why they feel down, and broken hearted (which is similar to the album cover). Shaun Morgan Welgemoed (, born 21 December 1978) is a South African musician. He is the singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the rock band Seether. His parents divorced when he was still a child. Morgan is one of three children; he had a brother, Eugene, who took his own life in 2007, and a sister, Lucy.
