560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade
The 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, based at the Cumming Regional Readiness Center in Cumming, Georgia, was a major command of the Georgia Army National Guard. It was organized as the first battlefield surveillance brigade in the Army National Guard. Overview Since its inception on 1 October 2007, the brigade's mission has been to provide command and control of reconnaissance, surveillance, and intelligence operations in support of a division, corps or joint task force. The headquarters provides command, control and supervision of the tactical operations of the brigade and attached units, while the headquarters company provides unit administration and logistical support for the brigade staff sections. Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A shoulder sleeve insignia (often abbreviated SSI) is an embroidered patch worn on some uniforms of the United States Army. It is used by major formations of the U.S. Army; each formation has a unique formation patch. The U.S. Army is unique among the U.S. Armed Forces in that all soldiers are required to wear the patch of their headquarters as part of their military uniforms. Shoulder sleeve insignia receive their name from the fact that they are most commonly worn on the upper left sleeve of the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) and Army Green uniform. However, they can be placed on other locations, notably on the side of a helmet. Shoulder sleeve insignia worn on the upper right sleeve of Army uniforms denote former wartime service. The 108th Cavalry Regiment is a cavalry regiment of the Georgia and Louisiana Army National Guards of the Unite States Army. Lineage The 108th Cavalry Regiment was constituted in the National Guard on 1 June 1921, allotted to the states of Georgia and Louisiana, and assigned to the 22nd Cavalry Division. It was organized from new and existing units. The 1st Squadron was organized on 6 March 1922 at Atlanta, Georgia, the 2nd Squadron was organized on 21 June 1922 at Jennings, Louisiana. The Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF), previously known as the National Resistance Army, is the armed forces of Uganda. The Otterburn Army Training Estate is a military training area near Otterburn, Northumberland, in northern England. It is owned by the UK's Ministry of Defence (MoD) and operated by Landmarc on contract from the MoD's Defence Infrastructure Organisation. The range is used for training up to 30,000 soldiers per year. The site was established in 1911 and covers about of the southern Cheviot Hills, 23% of the Northumberland National Park.
