A try is a way of scoring points in rugby union and rugby league football. A try is scored by grounding the ball in the opposition's in-goal area (on or behind the goal line). Rugby union and league differ slightly in defining "grounding the ball" and the "in-goal" area. In rugby union a try is worth 5 points, in rugby league a try is worth 4 points. The term "try" comes from "try at goal", signifying that grounding the ball originally only gave the attacking team the opportunity to try to score with a kick at goal. (born 17 April 1987 in Nagoya, Japan) is a Japanese rugby union player who plays at fly half for the Japan national rugby team. Career Ono moved to New Zealand aged 3, and went to Christchurch Boys' High School, the school that famously has produced 46 All Blacks in total including the likes of Andrew Mehrtens and Dan Carter. Ono played alongside future All Blacks Owen Franks and Colin Slade as part of the 2004 squad that went unbeaten. He moved back to Japan to play for the Fukuoka Sanix Blues and made his debut against Korea just 5 days after his 20th birthday as the joint 12th youngest player of all time to represent Japan in April 2007.
