41 Canadian Brigade Group
41 Canadian Brigade Group (41 CBG; french: links=no, 41e Groupe-brigade du Canada) is a Canadian Army formation of the 3rd Canadian Division. The formation is composed of Army Reserve units within the province of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. The headquarters of the brigade is in Calgary. The brigade has an establishment of 2,500 all ranks. The role of the Army Reserve is to be "a professional part-time force that provides local engagement and a responsive integrated capability, at home or abroad, in sustainment of the Army mission." Most of the soldiers within the brigade serve part time in units or sub-units stationed in their communities. 41 Combat Engineer Regiment (41 CER, French: ) is an Army Reserve (militia) unit of the Canadian Military Engineers/Royal Canadian Engineers (RCE) in Alberta, Canada. The unit consists of: * Regimental Headquarters (RHQ), * 25 Engineer Squadron (25 Engr Sqn) in Edmonton, * 33 Engineer Squadron (33 Engr Sqn) in Calgary, and * Administration Squadron (Admin Sqn). The unit parades on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays at the Lieutenant-Colonel Philip L. Douglas Cunnington
Colonel Douglas George Leopold Cunnington (April 20, 1885 – May 9, 1973) was a farmer, advertising agent, insurance salesman, soldier and a politician at the federal and municipal levels in Canada. Early life Cunnington for a time lived in British Guiana, he moved to Canada in 1910 settling in British Columbia, a year later he moved east to the Calgary region and set up a dairy farm. Military career Cunnington joined the Canadian Forces in 1915 during World War I. He rose through the ranks to become a Colonel. He was shot and believed killed in action at Battle of Amiens. He was instead taken prisoner, and his wounds were treated by the Germans. He remained a Prisoner of War until the cessation of hostilities. (In a curious incident that received attention in the press, the German troops who took him prisoner left behind some of his effects. Mount James Walker is a mountain summit located in Kananaskis Country in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta, Canada. The Calgary Highlanders
The Calgary Highlanders is a Canadian Army Primary Reserve infantry regiment, headquartered at Mewata Armouries in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The regiment is a part-time reserve unit, under the command of 41 Canadian Brigade Group, itself part of 3rd Canadian Division, one of four region-based Canadian Army divisions.
