4th Canadian Comedy Awards
The 4th Canadian Comedy Awards, presented by the Canadian Comedy Foundation for Excellence (CCFE), honoured the best live, television, and film comedy of 2002. The ceremony was held in 2003 in London, Ontario, concluding the three-day Canadian Comedy Awards Festival. The ceremony was hosted by the Royal Canadian Air Farce. Canadian Comedy Awards, also known as Beavers, were awarded in 19 categories. Winners were picked by members of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), the Canadian Actors' Equity Association, the Writers Guild of Canada, the Directors Guild of Canada, and the Comedy Association. For the second consecutive year nominations were led by TV series ''Made in Canada'' with seven nominations, followed by the films ''Men with Brooms'' and ''Rub & Tug'' with six apiece. Grand Theatre (London, Ontario)
The Grand Theatre is a professional theatre located at 471 Richmond Street just south of Dufferin Avenue in London, Ontario, Canada. Its main Spriet Stage has a seating capacity of 839 with a regular season running from September to May. In addition, it has a secondary venue called The Auburn Theatre (previously the McManus Theatre), located on the lower floor with a seating capacity of 150. History The theatre opened on September 9, 1901 under the ownership of the theatre magnate, Ambrose Small who reportedly considered this theatre his favourite of his numerous similar holdings. Michael John Myers Order of Canada, OC (born May 25, 1963) is a Canadian actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew
The Minnesota Wrecking Crew is a Canadian sketch comedy troupe, featuring members John Catucci, Josh Glover, Mike 'Nug' Nahrgang and Ron Sparks. They all met as members of The Vanier Improv Company. The group won two consecutive Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Sketch Troupe (2003-2004), and were nominated again in 2005 and 2006, making them one of the country's most successful comedy groups. In 2006 they were featured in the CBC Television special ''Sketch with Kevin McDonald'', hosted by Kevin McDonald of The Kids in the Hall fame, with their performance earning the troupe its third Canadian Comedy Award, in the "Best Taped Live Performance" category. Rebecca Northan
Rebecca Northan is a Canadian actor, improviser, theatre director, and creative artist. She is known for playing the hippie mother Diane Macleod on the CTV & The Comedy Network sitcom '' Alice, I Think''. She is a graduate of the University of Calgary, and an alumna of the Loose Moose Theatre Company where she did her improv training with Keith Johnstone.
