49th Government Of Turkey
The 49th government of Turkey (20 November 1991 – 25 June 1993) was a coalition government formed by True Path Party (DYP) and Social Democratic Populist Party (SHP). Election The governing party in Turkey between 1983 and 1991 was Motherland Party (ANAP), but in the elections held on 20 November 1991, no party could win the majority. While ANAP gained 115 seats, DYP gained 178 and SHP gained 88 seats out of 450. DYP and SHP formed the coalition government. Süleyman Demirel (leader of DYP) was the prime minister, and Erdal İnönü (leader of SHP) was the deputy (later acting) prime minister. Yaşar Topçu
Yaşar Topçu (born January 10, 1941 in Boyabat, Sinop Province, Turkey), is a Turkish politician and former government minister. He stood trial before the Constitutional Court for corruption charges, and was found guilty of malpractice. Early life Yaşar Topçu was born to Ali Mahir Topçu and his wife Raviye in Boyabat town of Sinop Province, Turkey on January 10, 1941. He was educated in Ankara University, Law School. After graduation he worked as a lawyer. Politics career Yaşar Topçu entered politics joining the True Path Party (DYP) led by Süleyman Demirel. He was elected deputy of Sinop Province in the 1987 general election held on October 29. Yıldırım Aktuna (1930 – September 29, 2007) was a Turkish psychiatrist, politician, district mayor and government minister in a number of cabinets. Early years He was born 1930 in Istanbul. After completing the high school in Karşıyaka, Izmir in 1948, Yıldırım Aktuna attended the School of Medicine of the University of Istanbul as a cadet. Köksal Toptan (born 1943, in Rize) is a Turkish lawyer, politician and a member of the Justice and Development Party. He earlier served as government minister in three cabinets. Hikmet Çetin (born 1937) is a Turkish politician of Kurdish origin former minister of foreign affairs and was leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) for a short time.
