4758th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron
The 4758th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron is a discontinued United States Air Force unit. It was last assigned to the 26th Air Division of Aerospace Defense Command at Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, where it was inactivated on 31 October 1970. History World War II The 4758th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron started life at Biggs Air Force Base, Texas in 1962. On 1 June 1962 the squadron was organized by Air Defense Command, as the 4758th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron flying the B-57 Canberra, EB-57E Canberra, and F-100C and F-100F jet aircraft. Biggs was transferred to the United States Army, Army in April 1966 and the squadron moved to Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico, where it became a tenant of Air Force Systems Command. Hill Air Force Base is a major U.S. Air Force (USAF) base located in northern Utah, just south of the city of Ogden, and bordering the Cities of Layton, Clearfield, Riverdale, Roy, and Sunset with its largest border immediately adjacent to Clearfield and Layton. The 29th Air Division (29th AD) is an inactive United States Air Force organization. Its last assignment was with Air Defense Command, being stationed at Duluth International Airport, Minnesota. It was inactivated on 15 November 1969. The 32d Air Division (32d AD) is an inactive United States Air Force organization. It was last active with Air Defense Command, assigned to First Air Force at Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama, where it was inactivated on 31 December 1969. The division was first activated by Continental Air Command in November 1949 at Stewart Air Force Base, New York.
