45th Félix Awards
The 44th Félix Awards were held on November 5, 2023, to honour achievements in Quebec music. The advance event, presenting awards in lower-profile categories, was held on November 1. Nominees were announced on September 20. Louis-José Houde (born October 19, 1977 in Saint-Apollinaire, Quebec) is a French-Canadian actor and comedian. He is best known for his performances in films such as ''Bon Cop, Bad Cop'' in 2006, '' Father and Guns (De père en flic)'' in 2009, '' A Sense of Humour (Le Sens de l'humour)'' in 2011 and '' Compulsive Liar (Menteur)'' in 2019. Les Cowboys Fringants
Les Cowboys Fringants are a Quebec folk rock music group formed in 1995 in Repentigny, Quebec. The French word ''fringant'' can be translated as "dashing", or "frisky". They perform '' Québécois'' néo-trad music (modernized Quebec folk music with a rock flavour) and draw on country music. They have an international underground following, especially in France, French-speaking Belgium and Switzerland. Band members hail from the Montreal suburbs of Repentigny and L'Assomption. The entire band collaborates on the lyrics, although guitarist Jean-François Pauzé often contributes more than the others. The band are known for their live performances, captured on the ''Attache ta tuque!'' live album and the ''Centre Bell 30 décembre 2003'' DVD. Cornelius Nyungura (born 24 March 1977), known by his stage name Corneille, is a Canadian R&B singer and songwriter. He was born in West Germany to Rwanda He, spent most of his childhood in Rwanda, and eventually emigrated to Quebec, Canada, in 1997. He sings in French and English. His work is greatly influenced by American funk and soul music; he is inspired by Prince, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Early life Corneille was born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, although he spent much of his childhood in Rwanda. Marc Dupré (born July 28, 1973) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and musician from Quebec. Career His first album release was ''Refaire le monde'' in 2005. It included " Tout près du bonheur" with Céline Dion. The song was written by Dion and a music video was also released that was shot in Nevada. At the first Gala Artis, held in Montreal on April 30, 2006, Céline Dion also performed the song with Dupré. Dupré opened for Céline Dion in her "Taking Chances" tour in Montréal and the release of a second album ''Revenir à toi'' in 2008. His third album ''Entre deux toz'' also contained a duet with Dion in the track "Y'a pas de mots". Jeanick Fournier
Jeanick Fournier is a Canadian singer from Saguenay, Quebec, most noted as the winner of the second season of '' Canada's Got Talent''. Fournier, who works as a palliative care attendant in Saguenay and is the adoptive mother of two children with Down syndrome, grew up in the small town of Dolbeau-Mistassini and later moved to the Saguenay borough of Chicoutimi in adulthood. She has performed in Quebec for a number of years, most notably in a Céline Dion tribute show.
