43rd Mechanized Brigade (Ukraine)
The 43rd Separate Mechanized Brigade () is a brigade of the Ukrainian Ground Forces formed in 2023 on the basis of a mechanized battalion from 93rd Mechanized Brigade. The brigade is currently equipped with T-64BVs, BMP-1s, M113s and 2S1 Gvozdikas. History The brigade is at the stage of formation as of April 2023. Operational Command East
Operational Command East (OC East) is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces in eastern Ukraine. Its headquarters is currently located in Dnipro. History When Ukraine gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1992, there were three Soviet military districts on its territory. These were the Kyiv Military District, Odessa Military District and the Carpathian Military District. In January 1998, the Southern Operational Command was created from the Odessa MD and the eastern part of Kyiv MD. In 2005, the Southern Operational Association was created from the Southern Operational Command. In October 2013, Operational Command South was created from the Southern Operational Association. In January 2015, Operational Command East was established with control over forces in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts. Humanitarian aid is material and logistic assistance to people who need help. It is usually short-term help until the long-term help by the government and other institutions replaces it. The 2S1 ''Gvozdika'' (russian: link=no, 2С1 «Гвоздика», "Carnation") is a Soviet self-propelled howitzer based on the MT-LBu multi-purpose chassis, mounting a 122 mm 2A18 howitzer. "2S1" is its GRAU designation. An alternative Russian designation is SAU-122 but in the Russian Army it is commonly known as ''Gvozdika''.
