3rd NWHL All-Star Game
The 3rd NWHL All-Star Game took place on February 11, 2018 at TRIA Rink in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A skills competition was held the day prior on February 10, 2018. Brittany Ott of the Boston Pride and Amanda Leveille of the Buffalo Beauts served as All-Star captains. Of note, Leveille became the first Canadian-born player to serve as a captain in the NWHL All-Star Game. The coaches for the event were Minnesota Whitecaps legend Winny Brodt for Team Leveille, while Winter Games gold medalist Tricia Dunn served in the same capacity with Team Ott. The game was contested in two 25-minute periods. With the contest held in Minnesota, each team featured one member of the Minnesota Whitecaps on its roster. Kate Schipper skated for Team Leveille while Sadie Lundquist competed with Team Ott. Katie Million, the Commissioner of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association was also in attendance. Alyssa Gagliardi
Alyssa Marie Gagliardi (born April 2, 1992) is an American ice hockey defender currently with the PWHPA. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Gagliardi is one of the first women from Raleigh to become a professional ice hockey player. Playing career Gagliardi played NCAA college hockey at Cornell University. During her four years with the team, she accumulated 89 points with the Cornell Big Red women's ice hockey program. Gagliardi was a member of four ECAC championship teams with Cornell. She would serve as assistant captain for the team in her junior year, and co-captain in her senior year. Sydney Rossman (born May 27, 1995) is American retired ice hockey goaltender, who played with both the Minnesota Whitecaps and the Connecticut Whale of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Samantha Faber (born May 8, 1987) is an American ice hockey player. Faber competed for the New Hampshire Wildcats women's ice hockey program in Hockey East. Kristin Lewicki (born June 10, 1995) is an American ice hockey forward, currently playing with the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Career From 2013 to 2017, she attended Adrian College, scoring 179 points in 113 NCAA Division III games with the Adrian Bulldogs. After graduating, she signed her first professional contract with the NWHL's Buffalo Beauts. She scored seven points in fourteen games in her rookie professional season. Rebecca Vint (born May 5, 1992) is a Canadian-born women's ice hockey player. She played with the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program and graduated as the program's all-time leading scorer, with 73 goals and 134 points. Rebecca Russo (born April 22, 1994) is an American-born women's ice hockey player. Having won a national U19 championship at Shattuck St. Mary's, Russo played her NCAA hockey with the BU Terriers. On November 3, 2015, Russo set the Boston University Terriers women's ice hockey record for most assists in one game, with five against Yale. The Connecticut Whale are a professional ice hockey team based in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They play in Simsbury, Connecticut at the International Skating Center of Connecticut.
