3x3 basketball (pronounced ''three-ex-three'') is a variation of basketball played three-a-side, with one backboard and in a half-court setup. According to an ESSEC Business School study commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, 3x3 is the largest urban team sport in the world. This basketball game format is currently being promoted and structured by FIBA, the sport's governing body. Its primary competition is an annual FIBA 3X3 World Tour, comprising a series of Masters and one Final tournament, and awarding six-figure prize money in US dollars. Tanah Merah, Singapore
Tanah Merah ( ta, தானா மேரா), is a geographical region located along the south-eastern coast of the East Region of Singapore. Although its boundaries are not exactly clear, it is widely accepted that the term refers to the southern coast of present-day Bedok, Tampines, Changi and Changi Bay. Etymology The name "Tanah Merah" appears in the seventeenth century (1604) map by Manuel Godinho de Erédia on Singapore, written as ''Tana Mera''. This place name is likely to have been an important reference point for the ''orang laut'' (sea people) in their activities in the region. The Malay name for this area is derived from the red lateritic cliffs along the coast that were visible from the sea, hence the name ''Tanah Merah'' or "red land". Anglican High School (AHS) is a co-educational, government-aided autonomous Anglican secondary school located in Tanah Merah, Singapore. One of the Special Assistance Plan (SAP) schools in Singapore, it offers a four-year secondary education leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations. History AHS was founded in 1956 by the Chinese-speaking congregations of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore. It was the only Anglican school in Singapore with Chinese as its medium of instruction. 2009 Asian Youth Games, officially known as the 1st Asian Youth Games and also known as Singapore 2009, was a pan-continential multi-sport event held in the city state of Singapore from 29 June to 7 July 2009, with 90 events in 9 sports. The plan for the Asian Youth Games was part of Singapore's 2010 Youth Olympics bids, bid to stage the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics (YOG). The purpose was to allow youths to use the chance to benchmark their performances against youth teams from Asian nations. The Games also provided Singapore with an opportunity to test organisational and logistical capabilities in advance of the 2010 YOG.
