3CG Records is an independent record label started by the pop group Hanson (band), Hanson in October 2003. "3CG" is an acronym "3 Car Garage" that refers to the building the band used as a recording studio and to the compilation album the band released before its chart success. History After success with Mercury Records, the band Hanson was transferred to Island Def Jam with the merger of PolyGram and Universal Music Group, Universal in 1999. Due to misunderstandings over their second studio album, the band created their own label. Hanson released their third studio album, ''Underneath (Hanson album), Underneath'' in 2004 on 3CG Records. The album went to No. 1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums Chart in April 2004. The band released their fourth studio album, ''The Walk (Hanson album), The Walk'', through 3CG. Hanson (band)
Hanson is an American Pop music, pop band from Tulsa, Oklahoma, formed by brothers Isaac Hanson (guitar, vocals, bass, piano), Taylor Hanson (keyboards, vocals, percussion), and Zac Hanson (drums, vocals, piano). Supporting members include Dimitrius Collins (guitar) and Andrew Perusi (bass), who have toured and performed live with the band since 2007. Hanson is best known for the 1997 hit song "MMMBop" from their debut album released through Mercury Records, Mercury/Polygram Records, entitled ''Middle of Nowhere (Hanson album), Middle of Nowhere'', which earned three Grammy nominations. PolyGram
PolyGram N.V. was a multinational entertainment company and major music record label formerly based in the Netherlands. It was founded in 1962 as the Grammophon-Philips Group by Dutch corporation Philips and German corporation Siemens, to be a holding for their record companies, and was renamed "PolyGram" in 1972. The name was chosen to reflect the Siemens interest Polydor Records and the Philips interest Phonogram Records. ''Shout It Out'' is the fifth studio album released by American pop band Hanson. The album is the third release through their own label 3CG Records. ''Shout It Out'' was released on June 8, 2010 in the US, and July 14, 2010 in Japan. On March 6, 2010, Hanson shot dance and other sequences for the music video of their new single, " Thinking 'Bout Somethin'", at Greenwood Avenue in their home town of Tulsa. Hanson recruited professional dancers for the shoot and also invited local residents and fans to take part. The video was directed by Todd Edwards, co-founder of Blue Yonder Films. It was released for public viewing to the band's MySpace channel on April 15, 2010. The Independent Albums chart (previously titled Top Independent Albums) ranks the highest-selling independent music albums and extended plays (EPs) in the United States, as compiled by Nielsen SoundScan and published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. It is used to list artists who are not signed to major labels. Rankings are compiled by point-of-purchase sales obtained by Nielsen, and from legal music downloads from a variety of online music stores. The chart began in the week of February 5, 2000. ''Underneath'' is the third album by American pop rock group Hanson. It was released in 2004 by 3CG Records. It is the band's first release on their own independent record label. The making of the album was the main subject in Hanson's documentary film, '' Strong Enough to Break'', that follows the band during the recording process and the struggles they faced to release it. Worldwide sales To date, the album has sold more than 350,000 copies, 137,000 of which were US sales and around 17,000 of which were sold in the UK, making this their lowest-selling official release.
