1st (Halifax-Dartmouth) Field Artillery Regiment, RCA
The 1st (Halifax-Dartmouth) Field Artillery Regiment, RCA, is a Canadian Army reserve artillery regiment. It is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at 73 Hobson Lake Drive. The unit consists of two batteries, 51st and 84th Field Batteries (87th Field Battery existing only on paper since the late 1990s). There are two units located within 1st (Halifax-Dartmouth) Field Artillery Regiment. One is in Halifax and the other is the 84th Independent Field Battery located in Yarmouth NS. Both share the same Commanding Officer. History Pre and Postconfederation The regiment traces its lineage back to the Halifax Volunteer Artillery, which may have been in existence as early as 1776. 36 Canadian Brigade Group Band
The 36 Canadian Brigade Group (NS) band, a voluntary musical unit that serves as the ''de facto'' Canadian Army brass and reed military band in Nova Scotia. Being part of the 36 Canadian Brigade Group, it is the only one that is operationally attached to a brigade. It therefore gives musical accompaniment to all units in its jurisdiction, including regiments with regimental bands such as the 1st Battalion, Royal Newfoundland Regiment. 36 Signal Regiment is Reserve unit of the Canadian Army, assigned to 36 Canadian Brigade Group. It was created on 1 April 2012 after several years of planning. Role The role of 36 Signal Regiment is to force generate combat capable signallers and Communication Information Service (CIS) capabilities to enable command and control in support of Canadian Forces domestic and expeditionary operations. Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
Charlottetown is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, and the county seat of Queens County. Named after Queen Charlotte, Charlottetown was an unincorporated town until it was incorporated as a city in 1855. The Canadian Army (french: Armée canadienne) is the command responsible for the operational readiness of the conventional ground forces of the Canadian Armed Forces. It maintains regular forces units at bases across Canada, and is also responsible for the Army Reserve, the largest component of the Primary Reserve.
